I finished yesterday. Right now, I feel a little disappointed. When I started to read and learned that dementors were breeding, and about the Inferi I thought this book would be very exciting.
I thought Amelia Bones would be the Minister of Magic, not this lion like guy (Scrimgeour). I don't recognise his name, was he ever mentioned?
When Snape made the Unbreakable Vow, I was sure he would be the one that died. Him or Malfoy. I can't believe I didn't realise Snape was the Half-Blood Prince. I thought it was going to be Lily. I think that's exactly what JKR wanted us to think.
I didn't like how the summer was "skipped" and Harry liked Ginny. I didn't like how Ginny was one of the prettiest, most popular girls in the school. That's just like Cho. Their kiss was pretty great. I wonder when Ginny came towards him if she meant to kiss him too.
I can not believe Ron and Hermione are still not together. Stupid Ron and Lavendar. What was Ron thinking!? Hermione had asked him out, who cares if she kissed Krum? When Ron said he loved her, I was waiting for some wonderful moment where he realised he blurted out the truth and admited he was in love with her, but no.
Dumbledore's burial was my favourite part of the book. It was so sad, so was Harry/Ginny's break up. You know they'll end up together so it didn't bother me too much and I liked how calm Ginny was calm and how she knew it would be for a "stupid, noble" reason. I have a question. Hermione says "You said to us once before that there was time to turn back if we wanted to. We've had time, haven't we?" When was this?
I can't believe they won't go back to Hogwarts. I always pictured the Final Battle there. Maybe it will stay open and Ginny/Neville/Luna will go back and the trio will return to help when there's an attack.
Everyone is saying Harry is a horcrux. I don't buy it. How could he be SO good if he had a part of Voldemort's soul? They are nothing alike in ways that it matters.
