good news: i only have to take two classes this semester and i can still be a full time student!
bad news: i'm really not sure if i can graduate in four years.
neutral news: frankly that is okay, because i'll be double majoring with a minor.
as was pretty much bound to happen, considering the fact that i'm spending a semester in france, i'm picking up a french minor. mostly because after this saturday i'll only have two more classes to get it.
still, i'm having a hard time finding courses here that i think can apply to anything. i think i'll need to take french composition at geneseo, but i might be able to take a literature class in french and get credit for both french readings and an english lit class. fingers crossed. i have basically given up on the hope of doing my communication prerequisites here - frankly, paul-valéry's program is just too practical - they actually tell you what jobs exist and things you would need to know with a job in communications. imagine that! and i can't/don't want to take my writing courses here, so. i'm pretty limited. oh, and i obviously can't take humanities. damnitall.
the good thing is that i could get credit for a comn course if i worked at the radio station next summer, plus i could probably take a humn class while there. the only problem with that is that it would crush my hopes and dreams of an internship with pixar. i know that that is the biggest stretch in the world, but i want to work there so. badly. ahh.
then there's the question of how lazy i would feel if i only took two classes. it would be awesome for traveling, but what if nobody else had the same kind of free time. and i wouldn't mind taking a third class, but i don't know if i could even find anything. ahh. but if i could, it would be nice not to get too behind on the million more classes i need to take.
anyway. college is hard, and it takes getting pooped on by registration every semester for me to realize it.
oh, but in other, more exciting news. presession ends saturday, and it will have been the easiest and most exciting six credits i will ever have gotten. we got class credit for going to a wine tasting and an olive oil tasting. we got to go to avignon and nîmes and the beach. really, we're pretty spoiled. aaand, we get to move in with our hosts saturday, also. i'm pretty nervous, but excited to meet michele. she seems nice and i've heard really good things about how cool she is. so. not to mention, maybe i'll actually be able to speak french when i'm living with a french person, because living in these dorms with a bunch of americans has just done nothing for my ability to speak.
anyway. big changes, exciting things. wahoo. i should be studying for the three tests i have in the next two days.
