So, it's an age since I finished reading A Song of Ice and Fire, but I realise I never shared my thoughts outside of locked posts. Seeing as it's quickly become my main fandom, this lack of fangirling is something of an oversight! So, before Game of Thrones premieres tomorrow, behold my ~feelings~. I wish I could write them down as eloquently as

I haven't read the books in four or five years, when only the first three were out, so my memory for them is fuzzy. But the series has me wanting to reread them. Maybe next time you post about it, I can chime in, haha. :)

My main gripe with Arya comes from rereading her chapters (which I thought were ace my first time through the series) and finding they get supremely boring after a while. It reminds me of The Two Towers, how you get these looooong Sam/Frodo chapters where it's like... "They're walking... and they're walking some more... aaaaaannnnd they're walking..." then it cuts back to all this EXCITING SHIT going on everywhere else - then back to Sam & Frodo who are stillllll walking. lol.

In any case, so glad you finally finished the series! :D Well, the series so far, anyway. Having to wait six years for ADWD has been horribly, unbelievably, excruciatingly painful. Here's hoping it's not another six before the next book. :s

It was Jaime's "a place even Renly never found" comment that sealed the deal.

You're so right about the Sam and Frodo thing. And Treebeard. Haha! I just have real issues with Arya...I think it's a combination of her being so far-fetched, fandom being so blind to her faults and...yeah, the state she left the Hound in. XD

I think GRRM will have HBO on his tail, if they renew the series!

It's going to be a really odd book without my favourites. And yes, that #obrienne cliffhanger is a killer!

I am partially through the first book, so, uh... I didn't read this post except to pause and :D at your pictures, because they make me giggle, especially the Bright-slap one. I'm ganking that, because I like Bright and his slapping Amuro. :3

Aaaaanyway, um. I will come back to this if I remember whenever I finish the series. xD; Or I'll post my thoughts somewhere or... something when I finish, which won't happen until the summer. Soyeah.

Ahaha, six months ago I wouldn't have understood the image, but we were talking about the original Mobile Suit Gundam in one class I am taking, so I went and watched the three movies they had condensed the series into, and I enjoyed it immensely and intend to see about finding more of the older Gundam stuff. :D Someday I will have watched all of the Gundam series. And then they will make a new series, and I will have to watch that, too. Giant mecha and whiny teen protagonists = <3 /rambles

But I saw from a later journal entry that you enjoyed the first episode, at least, so that bodes well. :3
