It is. Usually Geocaching is an activity done alone, with one or two others, or in small groups (like other things I enjoy). What the video didn't catch was on our way out we went to find a cache that was in the park. runeshower had found it before on her lunch hour, but wanted to show wallballgirl. As she was about to enter the hidden space, about a dozen people from the Meet and Greet approached. Usually, the rules are to make sure no one else sees you access the cache (this is primarily about the non-cachers / "muggles" / "geomuggles" who, not knowing the rules, might disturb/walk away with said cache). Hiding was completely out. Everyone knew where their GPS units were leading them and a couple of people went into the space to retrieve the cache. The log book was then passed around for all to sign. It was a very strange feeling to be dealing with a cache in the midst of such a large group.
Chuckle, I haven't even been to a geocaching gathering myself yet! Let me know next time you folks are going to one... that might give me more incentive to attend myself...
It's unlikely we'd have gone to an event so soon, except that I've set up a pocket query for new caches within a VERY short distance. That one was right near my work, at a park I already knew well and had visited for caching. So it was a must-do, you know? :-)
