Thinking about using Dungeon Finder for the first time.

Greetings ladies and gents!

With all the PUG horror stories I've read here and in other WoW-related communities, runeshower and I are very wary of using the Dungeon Finder.

Despite this, I'm still curious.

Whats wrong with trying? Worst that can happen is you wipe a couple of times and then you can drop out and resurrect at the nearest spirit, and get playing again in 10 minutes. Some people take games way too seriously.

Our bigger concern is based upon some of these "PUGs from Hell" stories, having the experience ruined by dealing with someone we've never worked with before. Perhaps even a clash of personalities within our own group if communication breaks down.

How soon can you level up a character on Runetotem to 18-20? ;-)

I just realized I posted this to my own journal instead of the community. Oops! Need to repost it.

A PUG from hell is actually an interesting experience in itself. And there are no guarantees anyway. I've been using PUG for months now and I'd say maybe 1/30th of them included a "problem" person, and even most of those were usually not intentional (lack of playing skill or intermittent connection were usually the issues). I can only twice recall groups where the players really were purposeful asses...one who kept needing items he obviously did not (he was quickly kicked after the third time he did this) and another who kept cursing the other party members. If you get into a group that's a problem, you can always vote to kick out the bad member.

We've talked about the idea that we're probably a little more immune to some of the worst abuses because 1) right now we're talking about low-level 5-man instances and 2) we'll make up four of the five members (or 3 of 5 if it is just me, runeshower, and citore)

I'm in the process of setting up a Tauren Resto Druid on Terenas to try PUG'ing as a solo (without the rest of our group). I'm getting ready for that little exerience.
