BUT BILLY MAYS IS DEAD.

i'm glad people stopped posting about michael jackson. it was taking over my facebook news feed. but seriously... it's hard to figure out what's REALLY going on in the world because nobody wants to report on anything but the celebrity deaths.

It's always been my firm belief that you have to FOLLOW the news. You want to hear about local news, watch the local evening news, or read the paper. You want to hear about political news, entertainment, science, you have to know where to look. No one should depend on social networks/time wasting websites for their news. And no one should just depend on one single news station for all the information they desire. There's plenty of channels, and plenty of information on the internet ( ... )

i'm in iraq... i have a very limited selection on what i can watch for the news... i enjoy watching current events on foxnews/cnn when it's on at chow... when the 30 mins I have for chow is taken up by news of jackson dying and there is nothing else it annoys me... he sung music... he died plant him and lets go on... there wasn't this much press when Regan died and he and a much more profound affect on the world then Jackson... what i hate is how people view fame as greatness... there are many more people that are nameless to the public that have died achieving something much more important then a large bank account and paparazzi following you...

When Reagan died the news coverage was massive in ca. From the day he died, to the day he was buried, all the news Covered was him. There would be several program interruptions for lengthy news coverage. Local news stations dedicated maybe 5 to 10 mins of news to local happenings and the rest to ronnie. Must have been a CA thing.
