Okay. Time for a bit longer report.
This time
ghostgirl13 and myself had seats way way off to the side. But still seats in that little auditorium are not all that bad. But we decided to ask the guy in charge of the box office if it would be possible to move up to a better empty seat if there's a no show. He told us to wait until everyone had seated and he would seat us. So we waited and then he took us in and pointed us to two front row seats in the center section on the right aisle. That was very cool. We both thanked him after the show.
So the play was even better last night. James was much looser than before. He wasn't bad before, but compared to the other actors he seemed like he was holding back or maybe not as comfortable with the set-up. I think it's more of an uncomfortable feeling because even last night I noticed he was always checking and double checking that he was right on the tape mark in front of the mic. The other actors didn't seem to bother with that. But last night James seemed much more comfortable with the set up. I also think perhaps all the cast are getting more into the play having performed it twice already and they may be getting more comfortable knowing each other as well. Whatever the reason it showed last night. I thought the play was performed marvelously before, but they all topped that last night. One advantage to the front row besides a great seat, was that since they don't seem to completely darken the audience James saw and acknowledged us. When the actors came back on stage after intermission he he gave a smile a nod to us. And at the end when they took their bows he again gave a nod to us and then turned a bit to the right to give a nod to
wrigglerosie who was in the front row side seat. So that was nice, since I never did get to tell him well done he at least got to see me with a big smile on my face clapping away for the great performance. Not entirely the same thing but close enough.
Afterwards, I was able to get a couple more of the actors and the director's autograph and thanked them for the great performance. James did not come out, but I had a feeling he would not be up to doing that every night. It will be interesting to see if he comes out tonight but not tomorrow night or if that Thursday night was the only night he decided to come out. Time will tell. I'll be there tomorrow for the final perfomance and I doubt he will come out being Father's Day, he probably has places to be. I truly hope this type of thing is something he is asked to do again. It was very fun and LA TheaterWorks seem to put together a fantastic cast. I actually might have to go to some of their other plays next season.
This will probably be the last report, unless the cast manages to top themselves again tomorrow. Which wouldn't surprise me actually. :)
