After the panel I had to run over to the film festival room for the opening ceremony.
jaesha joined me for that. Then we ran down to the photo op area to hopefully buy my James photo ops if the line had finally died down. I hadn’t planned on buying a Friday photo as my schedule on Friday was a bit tight and I was wearing my Batman crew shirt to

We'll have to catch up at some point this weekend. Meant to tell you over lunch, when would be a good day to kidnap you for some Olive Garden yumminess? Friday night or Sunday? We still have more BSG to watch!

Probably Friday will be best as I hate doing things on Sundays. I'm not religious but I do believe the last day of the weekend is a day to rest. :) Friday may have to be tentative in case I'm ready to collapse at that point. But so far I seem to be getting enough rest.

Aw. I had a fun time. When I wasn't being mortified. ;)
it made me think why the heck are you charging $250 for a Q&A/Concert event at a venue that will not provide a great concert experience.
He was wrong about that. It was a fantastic concert. The room was small enough that James could easily sing without a mic. And he sounded great.
Terry has a nifty siggy. And I love that photo he signed.
Not surprised at all that your film was a finalist. Heard a lot of good reaction from the crowd. Go you!

And thanks for coming to my screening as well.

At the party, Magie asked me why you and Shannon weren't there, and I said it was because it was too expensive. Then I looked beside me and realized Steve was standing there. He might have heard. He did say afterward that he knew that it was a lot of money to spend, and that he hoped it was worth it to us. Anyway. It'd be nice if they'd leave out the photo op, and maybe the food, etc, and cut the price as much as possible. And if they plan on not allowing cameras during the concert, they should lower the price too. :-P
I forgot to say before, but I think your costume photo op is my new favorite. So freaking adorable!

As for the $$ spent on private parties/concerts - I would think those con events are separate (from the con) lucrative revenue streams that JM/Himber would be nuts to forgo. I'm guessing that cons are a large part of their income, esp in this economic climate. I think I read that new programming is only 30 hours of network tv time this season, down from 100 hours years earlier. That is a lot of competition for guest shots, pilots, etc....

And I definitely don't begrudge JM/Himber for doing private events. I've attended quite a few over the years before deciding that since I never have anything to say to the man it's not worth it for me to pay the money for the "private" moment. It just saddens me this new trend of only doing concerts at these private events. And honestly if it had been the same price as last year's event, which was $150, I may have attended it. But charging an extra $100 for less stuff than last year made me go nope. :)
