06. Against Me!
07. Weezer
08. We Are Scientists

1. What was the first song you ever heard by 6 (Against Me!)?
Oh Gods. Um. I'm pretty sure it was Sink, Florida, Sink
2. What is your favorite album of 2 (OK Go)?
I only have heard one, so I'll go with "Oh No."
3. What is your favorite lyric that 5 (Tori Amos) has sung?
he said you're really an ugly girl
but i like the way you play
and i died
but i thanked him
can you believe that? sick sick
holding on to his picture
dressing up every day
i wanna smash the faces
of those beautiful BOYS
those christian boys
so you can make me cum
that doesn't make you jesus
4. How many times have you seen 4 (The Grates) live?
Zero! If they ever leave Australia again, I will be at their concert. Or possibly just stalking them.
5. What is your favorite song by 7 (Weezer)?
It's a five-way tie: "Perfect Situation", "The Other Way", "My Name is Jonas", "Buddy Holly", and "Say It Ain't So" for the winnnn! And "Freak Me Out" is a close second.
6. What is a good memory you have involving the music of 10 (Stephen Lynch)?
Omg, hello middle school. Besides sitting in Sarah's room and listening to all of the songs for the first time (and consequently dying), it would be seeing him live in Boulder with Madison and Sarah and laughing until we couldn't breathe.
7. Is there a song of 3 (Leonard Cohen) that makes you sad?
What??? You think it's likely that the so-called "poet laureate of pessimism", "grocer of despair", "godfather of gloom" and "prince of bummers" makes me sad? IMPOSSIBLE. Hallelujah makes me cry nearly every time I listen to it or even think about listening to it, so I would say that is one (of many) that makes me sad.
8. What is your favorite lyric that 2 (OK Go) has sung?
AHHH. This is the question of Satan. I could go into how brilliant all of their lyrics are, for example "A Good Idea at the Time," which gorgeously turns "Sympathy For the Devil" into an upbeat, more cynical version of itself. But instead I will leave you with this:
Me, I was raised amid the trickle down days
I woke up numb in the haze
and saw my future in a machine built for two
but the light gave me some kind of fright
how did wrong get so right
and leave me stumbling through the dark of night?
9. How did you get into 3 (Leonard Cohen)?
I actually know the answer to this! I went to Rian Johnson (the writer and director of "Brick") 's
website, and he had "Hey, That's No Way to Say Goodbye" as a downloadable file. I didn't stop listening to it for the longest time, and bought a Leonard Cohen CD the next day.
10. What was the first song you heard by 1 (Gogol Bordello)?
Sally. As soon as I heard the violin, I was sold.
11. What is your favorite song by 4 (The Grates)?
"Sukkafish"
12. How many times have you seen 9 (Rufus Wainwright) live?
I wish!
13. What is a good memory you have involving 2 (OK Go)?
Um.... I can't think of any. When I realized "Do What You Want" was being played in the background on the TV show Las Vegas????
14. Is there a song of 8 (We Are Scientists) that makes you sad?
Nearly all of them do. Their general sound somehow reminds me of Russia and simultaneously makes me want to drink heavily. And, while Russia was/is amazing, it is/was still pretty depressing.
15. What is your favorite album of 5 (Tori Amos)?
I only own her compilation CD, so I have no clue.
16. What is your favorite lyric that 3 (Leonard Cohen) has sung?
The entirety of Chelsea Hotel No. 2. But, in particular:
I remember you well in the Chelsea Hotel
You were famous. Your heart was a legend.
You told me again you preferred handsome men
but for me you would make an exception.
And clenching your fists for the ones like us
who are oppressed by the figures of beauty
you fixed yourself you said, "Well, nevermind.
We are ugly, but we have the music."
17. What is your favorite song of 1 (Gogol Bordello)?
"Avenue B" and/or "Undestructable"
18. What is your favorite song of 10 (Stephen Lynch)?
"Priest." Always Priest.
19. How many times have you seen 8 (We Are Scientists) live?
Once. I went with Jordan to the Bluebird. It was my first and last time to the Bluebird. The band was drunk (which was amusing), but we, as under 21ers, were confined to the balcony.
20. What is your favorite album of 1 (Gogol Bordello)?
Gypsy Punks: Underdog World Strike
21. What is a great memory you have considering 9 (Rufus Wainwright)?
Making sweet, sweet love to him on sticky Motel 8 sheets. It was a magical night.
22. What was the first song you heard by 8 (We Are Scientists)?
"The Great Escape"
23. What is your favorite cover by 2 (OK Go)?
Um... I've never heard them do a cover.
