Marty woke up to the sound of his cell phone ringing. He quickly slipped out of bed and grabbed his phone before it woke Angela up. He groaned when he saw the number on the display. "Marcella, I have an eight o'clock class. You better have a good reason to wake me up."
"I have that information you wanted sir."
"It's four in the morning!" Marty hissed into the phone.
"I know that sir, but this is majorly weird and I thought you want to know right away."
Marty rubbed his eyes and sighed. "Marcella, unless it involves the dead rising from the graves? Don't wake me at four AM," he whispered.
"Technically sir? It kind of does. I've sent the information to your laptop.
Marty groaned and turned on his computer. When it finally booted up he logged in and started going through the documentation Marcella had sent him. Since it was 4:00 am? It didn't make a whole lot of sense. "Okay Sgt. Pepper. What am I looking at?"
"These are all the birth certificates for all those people you mentioned."
Marty looked at them for a while and shrugged. "I don't see anything weird."
"Take a look at the next image."
Marty brought up the image of two death certificates and his eyebrows went up a bit. "These are for Janet and Charlie but the birth dates are all wrong. These could be their parents."
"That what I thought," Marcella said in a conspiring tone. "So I dug a little deeper and that's when the whole thing took a step into the twilight zone.
Marty sighed. "I live in the twilight zone, Marcella. How weird can it get?"
"Janet Frasier? The dead one? She only had one adopted daughter and she's in college now. This Charlie Kawalsky guy? The dead one? No kids. No relatives named after either one."
"Ooookay."
"Right. So I did a little more work and hacked my way into the Colorado springs public records. All those birth certificates I showed you? They were all entered into the database at the same time about a year ago. Except for that Cameron Mitchell."
"Weird."
"It gets better sir. I went back and checked all the other birth certificates. Except for Vala, all of them seem to have an older person named after them. And they are all in the Air Force. The only exception is this Cameron Mitchell guy, who's listed as being MIA. Other than that he seems pretty clean. His grandmother used to run moonshine during prohibition before she turned to Jesus and that omelet recipe can be found on the Food TV website."
"What else did you find out?" Marty asked looking more closely at the documentation.
"Take a look at the profile for Elizabeth Weir."
Marty clicked on her profile and an image of his roommate appeared. Only older looking. "Another Doppelganger?"
"Maybe Sir, she was a mediator for the United Nations and taught at Georgetown. She now has some kind of connection with the Air Force and Colorado Springs. All of these people do."
"What about Sam's aunt?" Marty asked shaking his head. "She works here at school as a teacher."
"No sir. Whoever that is? It's not her aunt. There's another Samantha Carter in the Air Force assigned to the Deep Space Radar Telemetry division. She also is engaged to Brigadier General Jack O'Neill."
Marty heard Angela toss around in the bed and waited to make sure she was asleep before continuing "There has to be some explanation for this, Marcella," he whispered.
"How about they are *lying* to you, sir."
Marty could practically see Marcella hunched over the desk her head bobbing up and down. "Oh really? How so?" he asked.
"Remember what you told me about George Hammond? Being everyone's Uncle? Kind of tough when he has no siblings."
Marty frowned at that. "What? But Janet and Jack are cousins."
"George Hammond is the legal guardian of Janet Frasier. Jack O'Neill Junior? Well if his father is Jack O'Neill there is no relation between them whatsoever. Also? Murray Murrayson is not related to Jack in anyway. There's no relationship between him and the O'Neill's and there are no adoption records either from Canada or the United states. The only other son listed for Jack O'Neill Sr. is "Charlie" and he died quite some time ago."
Marty sat for few seconds and looked through the background information Marcella had put together. "Okay. You're right. This is really weird."
"My personal theory sir? Aliens."
"Aliens?"
"I'm thinking Aliens kidnapped them all and cloned them."
"I think you've been watching too many episodes of the Z-Cases."
"You have a better explanation? Because this sure beats the whole international inbred jewel thieves thing you came up with."
"Well based on the information I had at the time..."
"Sir? No offense but your theory was crap."
"Says the girl who thinks they were abducted by aliens."
"You have a better idea?"
"Not at the moment," Marty sighed "This is really good, Marcella. Thank you."
"Sir? Watch your step with these people. I've got a black-cat-friday-the-thirteenth kind of vibe on this."
"I will. Cut yourself a check and give yourself a bonus."
"ALL RIGHT!"
Marty clicked off the phone and stared at his computer screen for a few moments. He then went over the information one more time before he slid back into bed and snuggled up to his sleeping girlfriend.
Despite the fact it was still 4:45 in the morning? Marty couldn't fall back asleep.
