"Yes. For the five millionth time," Angela said. "Unless you really want to leave."

She paused. "Or your mom is a vampire or something."

Another pause. "Is she?"

"No," Marty said with a chuckle, "She isn't. I'm sorry I'm nervous about this. It's just this has the potential of going horribly horribly wrong."

Angela reached for his hand. "Hey," she said, playing with his fingers. "Whatever she says or does, I know she's sick. I won't take it personally."

Marty took Angela's hand and gave it a little squeeze as he shot her a grateful look. "Thanks, You don't know how glad I am that-"

"Martin?"

Marty stiffened a little before turning to an older woman being pushed into the room in a wheelchair.

"Hi, Mom," Marty said leaning over to give her a hug and a kiss on the cheek. "You look great."

"Pfft. I look like I just rolled out of bed and have hamsters living in my hair," Mary Blank said humourously before turning to Angela. "Is your lady friend that you told me so much about?"

Marty smiled, "Yes, this is Angela. Angela, this is my mom, Mary Blank."

"Hello, Angela," Mary said holding out her hand. "It's absolutely marvelous to meet you."
