Marty rolled over at the sound of his alarm and attempted to beat it into submission.
Which would have worked if it wasn't his phone.
Eventually something made him realize this. Probably the fact the alarm clock is broken and his phone is still ringing.
"Hello?"
"Sir? Did I wake you?"
Marty groaned and pulled himself out of bed and into a sitting position. "Yes. What did you find out?"
"She's legit, sir. I caught some inter-company communication going on. She's the head of the British Secret service and just started her sabbatical. No information on where she went or her actual name but she appears to fit the general description you gave me," Marcella replied while apparently typing a mile a minute. "If you want I can keep digging and see what I can find out."
"No," Marty said breathing a sigh. "I don't want to raise any flags that we did any background checks for her."
"What are you going to do sir?" Marcella asked. "Are you going to take the position? Does this mean you're back in the business?"
"Yes and no," Marty said firmly. "It's just a TA job. I'm not working for a government. Just a teacher in a classroom. That's it."
"Are you sure sir?" Marcella asked in her probing way. "It just seems like it could be one more step towards going back to-"
"No. It isn't," Marty replied in the same firm tone. Maybe firmer in order to give Marcella a clue that she needed to shut up.
"Gotcha," Marcella replied. "Plus this way you can keep an eye on her, right?"
"Right," Marty said with a yawn. "Anything else?"
"I got a great recipe recently for-"
"Gee? Is that the door?" Marty said cutting her off. "Gosh. I got to run."
"But sir, I-"
Marty clicked off the phone and then made a
brief phone call before debating between going out into the world and slipping back under the covers.
Five minutes later he was fast asleep.
[ooc: Marty is asleep but I am not. Feel free to knock on the closed door.]
