NYC: Gimbel's Department Store

The holiday throng at the department store was what you expected seven days before Christmas. Luckily for Marty he had already finished his Christmas shopping and had them all wrapped up

Angela was itsy-bitsy-spiderng at the baby and fussing with her little velvet dress. "You don't think she's too young for this, do you?"

[oatmanspatient]

"I don't know," Marty admitted. "Isn't a tradition to get a picture on Santa's lap when you're a baby and get picture of yourself screaming your head off?"

This of course was all said in a happy joyful tone that one keeps in front of a child who doesn't understand what you're saying but knows a happy tone when they hear it.

Angela mimicked his joyful tone. "So we're tormenting our daughter so we'll have a picture to embarrass her with later?"

Just so they were clear on that.

"Yes," Marty agreed happily as he bounced Abby a little to make her giggle. "Absolutely. It's a parent's prerogative. Circle of life thing."
