So last night he went back to the hospital and he stayed there over night. I called at 7 am and they told me the meds, Regulan and Cisapride, Prilosec and an anti-nausea were making him better. I was wondering whether this was the 4th one or not. I never even heard of it until I picked him up.

Oh thats bad,! My old Akita had non-typical non-acute bloat. It was the worst. She survived OK, but she was 13 years old so things werent so good after that. My hearts and hopes are with you for complete fast recovery!

I hope Hippo goes back to normal or mostly normal. He's mostly akita too. I guess next to joint displaysia it's a big problem for them, even though they aren't in the top 10 for bloating breeds.

I glad your dog is on the mend!!!
I'm sorry to hear the pain your dog has gone through and I'm really sorry to the pain your wallet must have endured as well.

Trust me, I feel your pain! In fact, Tramadol and Gabapenin are two of my Newfi's favorite treats when her back acts up. Nothing like slipping a dog 22 pills a day every time she has a flares up...

But what are you going to do are pets always seem to come first :-)

I didn't see this until now, sorry about that! Yeah I certainly felt a hefty blow financially, so for the next year things are going to be super duper tight. But I agree, pets come first. I'm just glad I caught it in time and he's still alive.
