Perhaps the situation could have been avoided if Gilbert didn't considering himself "too awesome to knock". That was probably one of the few times he hadn't knocked on the door to his brother's office or otherwise personal space, instead being very happy to find the door unlocked and violently flinging it open, grinning like the maniac he was.
"Mein Oberherr--" His noise was interrupted by what he saw, blue eyes blinking several times as if to register it all. "Bru. . .der?"
Of course, his immediate thought was quietly stated under his breath, quiet enough his younger brother could not hear. "Was zur Hölle."

But that appeared not to be, for only a few moments later and Gilbert heard the door slam open. He'd look, inspect the intruder, maybe even growl at him, but the heat of his master was too distracting, and he didn't want to move. So he stayed still, wrapping both arms tight about the larger man's neck, silently willing him not to move even though he was sure he was going to anyway.

He gazed at Prussia, breaking into a broad, bright smile.
"Prussia! You're back! This is Gilbert, he's human. Gil, this is Prussia." A beat later he added, "What am I doing, you must be starving. Gilbert, why don't you run down to the kitchen and make Prussia something to eat while he and I get reacquainted?"
He nuzzled Gilbert's cheek briefly before nudging him out of the bed.

Even so he smiled back a bit. He managed to keep the smile up through his brother's explanation, although it was hard not to glare at the clingy creature human. He nodded, both in understanding of what he said and to the fact that he was rather hungry--as much as he wanted to deny it Bruder didn't like when he lied, after all ( ... )
