Three of my close friends, 2010 Oberlin grads, are launching a new company called geakStudios, a video game development company to put power back in to the hands of the people. They earned a Creativity and Leadership grant to get started, but need more funds to begin production, and have entered this cool grant competition. Check out their pitch,

Interesting idea, but it definitely selects for a particular scope of game and most people are terrible at evaluating if a mechanic works from an incomplete prototype (it is amazing how many people get hung up on an unfinished UI when you are trying to evaluate an actual mechanic instead).
