[Negi tried to make it to Whipstaff as quickly as he could, he really did. The mistletoe had been spreading, and it was hard to get outside without running into some of it. As it was, he had to climb out his window just to get outside.

He took the door this time, not the window. He ran the whole way. Ciel was in trouble, he just hoped that someone in the manor had got to him by now. As he opened the door to Ciel's room, not even bothering to knock, he felt relief wash over him. Ciel was okay, just lying in bed.

He approached the bed, feeling his chest tighten at the flushed look on his friend's face. He wasn't sure if Ciel was awake or not, so Negi pulled a chair up to the side of the bed and just...sat.]
