Hello All,

I recently found out that I was admitted to Oberlin, and thus I have been scouring the website/wiki/blogs/livejournal pages ever since. I have read just about all that I have been able to find regarding residence halls, and I was hoping ye knowledgeable Obies could share your thoughts on the different dorms.

If you want community but not too much raucousness, try a themed or program house! I lived in and loved Baldwin, the women and transgendered people's collective, and it ruled very hard.

Also: I cnanot recommend co-ops more for community, friendship, and fun.

Keep in mind that if you select traditional housing (or freshman housing) you do not get to request a specific dorm. By requesting traditional, you have a better chance of getting into North or South than Fairkid ( ... )

err, i mean none of my first year friends in traditional housing DO feel isolated by the upperclassmen.
