just the facts, ma'am: on tuesday i turned eighteen, and i got the fabled new camera. it is beautiful, and now i know how to post beautiful pictures. on wednesday greta and i had a party, which was a whir of snapping shutters. below the cut is my take on it.

Does your camera have some sort of setting for taking pictures at night? It seems like the 'raise the roof!' one was taken through some sort of night vision filter. It looks awesome.

yeah the new camera has this awesome nightshot mode where instead of just using a single IR light to focus, it projects this red laser lattice onto the subject. words do not do justice to how cool that feature is. i don't really like nightshot, though, because images are always noisy and a tad blurry.
