OOC: Obito Backstory

Apr 19, 2008 22:19

History / Biography: Obito was born into the Uchiha family, but never really fit in. Surrounded by the more talented members of his family, he was the one who faded into the background at family gatherings. He was the odd man out in the clan, perferring to break rules and be a kid. He was carefree and brash and happy, with none of the worries of his family on his back.

When he was in elementary school, Obito met a quiet boy named Kakashi. No matter his attempts at getting the other boy to talk or smile or show any emotions, Kakashi ignored him. Or fought with him. Thier personalities clashed most of the time, but after about a year of constant fighting and bickering, the taunts turned from bitter threats to friendly teasing. Though they still argued, the two had formed a strong friendship. Obito also fell in love with a girl in his class named Rin around the same time. Although Obito never did get the courage to tell her how he felt, he did manage to befriend her. From that point on, the three were nearly inseperable and very close.

However, when Obito turned fourteen, his family his hard times. His father, who had previously had an outstanding police record, had been caught up in some scandal. While Obito was sure that his father was innocent, the family picked up and moved very quickly. Obito never got the chance to say goodbye to his friends, and was soon thrown into a new life several prectures away from his friends and remaining family. It was a hard time on them all. It only got worse when not even a week after thier move, Obito's father was killed. While it was thought to be an incident entirely seperate from the scandal, nothing conclusive was ever discovered.

For awhile, Obito's usual cheerful and upbeat attitude was crushed. The rest of his time in Junior High he spent reading manga and studying, and while his grades weren't amazing, he did manage to get into the top high school in his area. Although it was considered an acedemic school, the atmosphere was fairly relaxed, and Obito was able to make friends and come out of his depression bit by bit, starting to smile again. He graduated with good grades and entered college, majoring in communications.

While in college, Obito met with Rin again. This time, he did not falter in asking her out, and they dated for awhile until they both decided to break off. They were in agreement that something was different, and Oito realized that while he still loved her, the time that they should have been together had passed, and that they had both changed and moved on with with lives. Though he he was sad to broke up with her.

Eventually graduating from college, Obito was one of the lucky members of his grauating clas to get quickly snapped up into a company. While he had never intended to become a salary man, he did, and started his company life working for NHK. He started working in the collections office, calling people to pay bills, and soon moved through the ranks of the NHK, ending up in the programming department.

Currently, Obito has been apart of the NHK programming department for the past six years. He was moved to the NHK offices in Tokyo about six months ago, and while hesitant at first to return to the city he was originally from, found that he was much more comfortable knowing that he would be living and communting no where near the old family home. While he and his family had cut off all contact after his father's scandal, Obito is still nervous about running into anyone he knows from the family. (Currently, he has no idea about the death of his family members--his mother read it in the paper, but kept it from him. They had been cut off from the family, his father was dead and that was a tough time, she didn't want to upset him further). He lives in a modest apartment with his cat Misa and reads manga in his somewhat limited spare time.

He is attending the college to take English classes to improve his English, hoping to improve his worth and standing in the programming department.
