I retract my earlier statement about liking Buffy more. Maybe it's just season 7 Buffy I don't like...but I am watching "Selfless" and she just jumped on the whole "I've got to kill Anya" idea like a spider on a fly in two seconds flat. WTF? Spike gets a gazillion free passes, Willow gets a free pass, but she doesn't even consider trying to help

Aww, don't be hating on Buffy :(
She does make a couple of wrong decisions, such as the one about Anya that you cited, but she means well. :)
And everyone was so mean to her in Empty Places.
I used to agree with them, but after rewatching about a dozen times, I realised they were doing exactly the same sort of thing that she did when she went after Anya, aka not really thinking it through properly.
My love for Buffy definitely increased after rewatching the series a couple of times.

Everyone is really mean to her in Empty Places. But she kind of deserves it at that point.

I was really loving Buffy up until season 4. Then she goes downhill. First Riley, then treating Spike like dirt, then being too into Spike and not caring about her friends at all in season 7. She just becomes really selfish.

In fact, you know my crazy crossover story? I haven't written for months but was recently struck by the muse. In my epilogue (which ironically is written even though the story isn't finished), I have Angel come visit Faith and family in Scotland. They get to talking about Buffy and how Buffy and Draco especially don't like one another. Faith is explaining why and ends with, 'Besides, he made her cry once in front of like ten people.'

So the other day I decided to write THAT scene. Basically, I'm having Draco tear into Buffy about the double standards and every other thing about her that has always bugged me. It's been a fun and cathartic process.

So when you re-watch do you allow yourself to skip any episodes? There are a handful I always let myself skip. The praying mantis one from the first season, for example. And the one with John Ritter.

What?!!!!??? You skip "Ted?" LOL! I LOVE THAT ONE. See that is back when I actually really like Buffy.

*turns head to the side quickly*

Nope, I haven't skipped a single one. The hardest one to watch again was "Help." I don't know why, I just can't stand it. Season 7 is definitely my least fave. I haven't gotten to Faith yet though :)
