How to
Copy the layout code and paste it into Notepad. Press Ctrl+H, or go to Edit and click Replace. In the first box, type usernamehere. In the second box, type in your actual LJ user name, and press Replace All.
Go to the Edit Info page, and make sure that there is text in the Website URL field. If there is not, type any text into that field, scroll to the bottom of the page, and click Save Changes.
Go to the Customize Journal page, and make sure your journal is set to use S1. If it is not, select S1 from the dropdown menu then click Change.
Go to to the Modify Journal page. Make sure they are all set to use the correct style. (This is different for each layout, and is listed under "LJ Style.")
Scroll down to the Color Theme section. Make sure that the Custom Colors radio button is selected, and that all of the boxes have the appropriate color or number. (This is different for each layout, and is listed under "Custom Colors.")
Scroll down to the Overrides box. Copy the layout codes out of Notepad and paste them into this box.
Scroll to the bottom, click the Save Changes button
