Chapter 14 - Part 1

Rolling his shoulders Kyuhyun sighed, lazily leaning back into his chair. Rolling his eyes he looked over at the shopping bags, debating about putting the clothes away. Grinning he hummed slightly slipping the battery back into his phone he put it onto the charger. Turning it on he placed it on the ground, going to the computer desk he stretched out in satisfaction. Laughing softly he thought of the afternoon he had spent with Changmin and the others. Turning he looked at his phone as it vibrated viciously, eyebrows going up as the message box flashed full, voicemail continuing to climb in numbers. Guiltily his eyes looked up to the empty bunk across the room. The dark half of the room looming ominously at him. Reaching for the phone he cringed at the probable voicemails.

“I don’t care.” He chanted to reminded himself, staring at the still buzzing phone. “I don’t care.” Forcing himself he set it down he went back to the desk, carefully distancing himself from the object. Grinding his jaw he turned back to the larger bags. Reaching inside he pulled out a shirt, grinning at the memory of the other’s look of appreciation. Smirking he thought of the women from earlier. Setting the material down he looked at his hand, fingers flexing in memory. Looking over at the phone he sighed, rising he supposed he could call the other and let him know he was alright. Reaching for the phone he heard a loud thump. Straightening he leapt in terror when the door flung open angrily, a fuming Sungmin standing in the door frame. Swallowing in fear Kyuhyun’s eyes regarded the other fearfully.

“I-”

“You!” Sungmin thundered furiously, striding into the room he flung the other against the wall, arm pinning him beneath the throat dangerously. “Where the fuck have you been?”

“I-I don’t think it concerns you!” Kyuhyun defied, squirming under the other’s hold.

“You don’t get it do you?!” Sungmin screamed, pushing against the other he caused Kyuhyun to choke on air. “Everything about you concerns me!”

“Only because you get paid.” Kyuhyun spat bitterly, eyes narrowing.

“I told you not to turn your phone off.” Sungmin snarled.

“It’s my phone.” Kyuhyun glared. “I can do what I want with it.”

“You could have died.” Sungmin growled eyes coal black with anger. “I couldn’t find you anywhere.”

“I told you I don’t need you.” Kyuhyun glared, growing angry with the other. “If you couldn’t find me then you probably weren’t doing your job right.”

“You’re right,” Sungmin scoffed coldly, drawing a large object from his pocket. “I didn’t do my job right. From the beginning I should have made it so that you could never get away from me.” He rumbled dangerously.

“What is that?” Kyuhyun gasped, eyeing the gun like object, struggling beneath the other’s unyielding arm.

“Stop moving.” Sungmin growled, placing the object against his arm. “Or it’s going to hurt.”

“What the hell is that thing?!” Kyuhyun squirmed. “Let me-Ow!” he screamed as the object clicked and Kyuhyun felt a white hot pain sear his arm. Releasing him Sungmin stood back and let Kyuhyun sink to the floor in agony, hand clasping his arm desperately. Large tears welled in his eyes when he looked up at the other.

“What the hell did you just do to me?”

“It’s a tracker.” Sungmin stated coldly. “I should have given it to you to begin with.”

“A what?!” Kyuhyun spat irritably.

Eyes narrowed emotionlessly Sungmin simply regarded him. “A tracker.”

“Like what you put in dogs?” Kyuhyun asked incredulously, eyes welling at the pain.

“Sort of.” Sungmin shrugged; pulling his sleeve back he revealed a small digital watch. “See this thing?” he sneered, “It keeps track of your movements for me. Now I know where you are and what you are doing.” He glared. “At all times.”

“You’re joking!”

“I told you to answer your phone when I called.” Sungmin ground crossly.

“I disobey that and you put a chip in me like a dog?” Kyuhyun demanded angrily.

“Run away like a bitch,” Sungmin leered crouching to meet the other at eye level. “I track you like a bitch.”

Gaping Kyuhyun looked at the seething man before him, cold eyes sending shivers down his spine. Glaring Sungmin’s eyes dared the other to challenge him. Straightening he roughly yanked his bag from the floor, striding to the dresser he stuffed some clothes into the bag, tearing his uniform from his closet. “I’ll be sleeping in Ryeowook’s room for the night.”

“You’re leaving?” Kyuhyun asked in astonishment.

“You want me to stay?” Sungmin countered coldly. Silently Kyuhyun stared at him, not sure what he wanted, and fearing the other’s wrath.

“You don’t get it do you.” Sungmin laughed coldly. “If I stay here I might kill you’re stupid ass.”

Eyes narrowing angrily Kyuhyun crossed his arms. “I’m not stupid.”

Rolling his eyes Sungmin clenched his jaw, refusing to comment. “You can un-enroll from the martial arts class tomorrow and do something else you prefer.” He stated coldly.

“I don’t have to go?” Kyuhyun asked incredulously.

“You want to stay with me?” Sungmin challenged softly, voice dangerously calm.

“No.” Kyuhyun replied hurriedly, stuttering at the other. “It’s just-I thought that we would you know, be stuck together.”

Snorting Sungmin looked at him as he still held his arm protectively. “Now that you have that thing, you can go anywhere you dam well please.”

“I thought you said I could have died?” Kyuhyun objected.

“You still can.” Sungmin shrugged indifferently, straightening the shoulders of his bag. “But don’t worry, I’ll know.”

“What are you talking about?” Kyuhyun asked, brows knitting inquiringly, his interest overriding his fear.

“Instead of green the light will flash red.” Sungmin replied coldly, striding towards the door.

“You don’t seem to care if I die.” Kyuhyun frowned heatedly.

Pausing Sungmin kept his back towards the other, stiffening at his words. “I already went through that hell tonight.” He said softly. “What’s another time?” yanking the door open he turned around to glare at the stunned boy.
And don’t worry; with that tracker in your arm, I won’t be with you every second of the day anymore.”

“You just want that stupid paycheck.” Kyuhyun hissed angrily.

Laughing bitterly Sungmin looked over his shoulder contemptuously. “You don’t get it do you?” he shook his head. “Your selfish little life isn’t the only one riding on me keeping you alive.” Scoffing he strode from the room  slamming the door shut his feet softly receded down the hall.

Sinking to the floor Kyuhyun stared after him dumbly, the emotions raging against him. Gripping his arm the aching pin seared through him. He was free, but he wasn’t free, Sungmin had left but the room felt eerily still. Breathing deeply his emotions seemed to peek between confusion, anger and guilt. Biting his lip he tried to reason his own innocence, telling himself the other was in the wrong and he would see that. Angrily a knock resounded on the door. Eyes snapping up Kyuhyun’s lip pulled into a smirk as he strode to the door.

“I told-”

“Can you guys shut the fuck up!” A smaller male exclaimed angrily when Kyuhyun pulled the door open. Stunned Kyuhyun took in his round eyes and puffy cheeks, anger seething through him.

“You’re not Sungmin.” He glared accusingly.

“Yeah,” the other glared. “I’m Zelo. Now could you and your loudass roommate please keep the dammed noise levels down?” he glared. “Some people are trying to sleep.”

Lounging against the frame Kyuhyun’s eyes flashed angrily at the small blonde. “You’re the bastard that banged on the wall the other morning.” He stated coldly. Eyes widening Zelo could sense the other’s roiling anger. Narrowing he refused to allow the other to intimidate him.

“So what if I was?”

“You interrupted something important.” Kyuhyun growled angrily.

“You woke me up.” He shot back.

Tilting his head Kyuhyun’s lips curled into a sneer. “Tell you what kiddo.” He replied coolly. “Since you’re so big on us shutting up, why don’t the next time you and your boyfriend decide you want to go a round, you tone it down a bit. Maybe then we’ll think about shutting up.”

“I don’t know what you’re talking about.” Zelo flushed slightly.

Leering snidely Kyuhyun’s eyes sparked dangerously. “Interrupt my time again,” he spoke coldly. “And the whole school will.”

Paling Zelo looked at him in constrained rage. “I could do the same.” He threatened back.

Smirking Kyuhyun laughed lowly, “I doubt our arguing would be as interesting as you’re moaning.”

Face flushing crimson Zelo looked at him angrily. Smiling cruelly Kyuhyun’s eyes lidded in contempt. Shrugging from the door he reached out to pat the other’s cheek condescendingly.

“I enjoyed our little chat.” He smirked. Turning he looked back, “Oh, and if anyone aside from my roommate tries to come in, try not to let them.” Winking he went back inside, the door clicking softly behind him. Sighing in disappointment his eyes looked at the empty room. Blinking rapidly he slid down the wooden barricade, thoughtfully. He had thought Sungmin was back, he had wanted him back. Biting his lip he realized he didn’t want the other gone, not yet, not in this situation. Biting his lips he realized he didn’t like the other being angry at him. If he was going to leave he wanted it under different circumstances.

Rising to his feet he went to his phone, eyes widening fractionally as he scanned the messages.

That Annoying Bastard- 97 Messages.

Monkey Boy- 3 Messages.

Channie- 1 Message.

47 voicemail - Maximum level reached.

284 Missed Calls.

“At least I know the maximum now.” He muttered softly. Reaching down he opened up the other’s messages. Eunhyuk’s asking where he had been, letting him know that Sungmin was looking for him and letting him know that Donghae and him were going to watch the movie without them. Shaking his head he opened Changmin’s, grinning slightly at his friends enthusiastic thanks for the day. Exhaling slowly he hesitantly opened up the last message box. Staring at Sungmin’s messages his eyes scanned them, watching the range from terror, to panic, to terror and anger all over again. Exhaling he sat down, staring at the voicemails. Taking a deep breath he pushed the button to his voicemail, preparing to hold the phone away from his ear. After a moment’s thought he decided to put the phone on speaker, finger hovering over the delete button.

“Kyuhyun where did you go?” Sungmin’s voice screeched over the device frantically. “I-“Pressing the button Kyuhyun deleted the message so that he wouldn’t hear the end of it. The next message Sungmin’s voice was seeped in worry. “Kyuhyun please pick up, I need to know you are-Kyuhyun I am looking everywhere for you! If you don’t-Kyuhyun I-Kyuhyun where are you-Kyuhyun I-Kyuhyun-Dam it Kyuhyun pick-Kyuhyun if I find you-Kyuhyun what do-Kyuhyun where did-Kyuhyun!-Kyuhyun I’m warn-Kyuhyun where are-.” Rapidly Kyuhyun’s fingers pressed the buttons, the others panicky voice gnawing at his conscious. The messages ranged much like the text he had browed, ranging from panicked to angered and in-between. Biting his lip guiltily Kyuhyun realized the anxiety he had put the other through. When he neared the end of the messages he paused listening to a message that sounded as if the other were about to cry.
