Note to self: Do not kill yourself working on a piece the night before a critique, or you take it really personally when the professor rips it apart. Uh, figuratively speaking.

Take ceramics. Everything you make comes with a guaranteed check against getting too attached. Kiln cracks and explosions have a way of making one a little more carefree.

It's quite liberating.

I got a lot of problems like that with the plaster pieces I just posted pictures of, and subsequently told you about the posting of pictures of. They sort of made me want to rip my hair out. In fact, they just became four pieces today, instead of the 10 different pieces they had been since casting.

I don't know if I could handle my hard work exploding in the kiln even semi-regularly. I might... crack under the pressure. HA! Ha! ...ha...
