The interview is now over. It was a very odd interview for a variety of reasons, but I think it went ok.

First of all, he called me on my mobile. This was weird for two reasons: 1) he called me on my mobile....who has an interview while on the mobile? 2) I don't think I ever gave him my mobile number. It wasn't on my resume, and when the exec ( Read more... )

It's called Weiss Asset Management. It's a hedge fund firm started by two top notch economists who were (are?) professors at BU.

HOW FUCKIN RICH ARE YOU, MAN? I CAN'T EVEN AFFORD TO BUY LUNCH AND YOU'RE SWANNING OFF ALL OVER THE PLACE, HAVING TEA AT THE SAVOY?! CRAZY. IT MAKES ME HATE YOU.

Love, A fellow LSE student.

I'm not rich, and I don't have tea at the Savoy on a regular basis, but as an American in London I wanted to have the chance to experience tea the way it's supposed to be experienced for once. I'm not sure who you are or where you're from, but if you want to be able to do things, get a job! Don't complain to me-- I worked and saved all summer in anticipation of being able to pay for the kind of experience I wanted while in London, allowing me to travel and occasionally go to nice restaurants and other experiences, like Tea at the Savoy and the Ritz, in London. And posting anonymously like that is pretty lame. Have some balls, man.

I've got a job. And it pays me crap money like most jobs. And I worked all summer. Don't talk to me about getting a job. Reality is that no students can afford to do the things you seem to do, at least none I know anyway.

It seems that no matter what I say, you're intent on judging me. I'm sorry, but it doesn't really matter to me whether you approve of my lifestyle ( ... )
