Isn't there ever a time when people wish to be left alone? I mean people in general, mind you, not just certain ones. Coming from one that his lead himself into exile more then once, I can't help but wonder if anyone else just craves solitude every once in awhile ( Read more... )

You bring out interesting thoughts from me, Siegfried. Perhaps this is why I love you like I doIt may sound surprising to you, but everyone desires their solitude at some point. Whether it be due to a sorrowful event, being fed up with the world around, sociopathic tendancies, being chased by people wanting your head, what have you. For a topic such as this, it is quite ironic to say, but you are not alone. For example, me. If you were to have met me before...everything occured, you would have found a far colder man than what you see before you. I reveled in my privacy. It kept me cold and calculating, skills that I applied when it was needed by my family. I was not someone to be trifled with, that's for damn certain. My solitude and privacy kept it that way ( ... )

... Hm.

Perhaps we, as humans, do crave the company of others to a degree. Afterall, in solitude, one has too much times to entertain their thoughts-- especially the less then colourful ones. I think that if we are left to our own vices too long, with all of the scars that humanity as a whole bears, we could even drive ourselves mad.

To be able to open up to others, it prevents our insanity, even if only a little. It prolongs the miery that we induce on ourselves. It is like a fleeting moment where we can feel as though we belong, before retreating back to our nightmares.

And I'm certain now, after learning the things that I have from others, that we all have Nightmares.

Perhaps that feeling of belonging, fleeting moment or no, is what is needed to make it through the nightmares in tact. Yes, everyone has nightmares, but being able to stand against them and not let them control you is something I believe everyone desires.

So perhaps we mean to say that comrades, allies-- brothers in arms, however you wish to call those you surround yourself with.. That they are a far better sheild against the onslaught of misery then any weapon that could be crafted?

... I feel somewhat barbaric. Comparing everyday "feelings" with swords and battles.

Self-imposed exile, isolation... Yes, this is quite a change from such situations; so little chance to be left alone, now. But do you think this is better? I still have yet to make that decision, myself.

Like you, Isabella, I too have not come to a decision about whether it is "better" or not. But to be fair, while I can't yet grasp the conclusion that I seek, it is safe for me to say that I certainly feel different.

My mind is quieter since coming here. Since talking with people. Were we to have to do battle with one another again, whether it be against you or Raphael, I do not know what I would do.

It will come in time... though how much remains to be seen.

My sentiments are the same; I would rather not think of such a possibility unless it were a spar on more friendly terms than previously.

Very true. Waiting is often said to be the hardest part, but generally I am a patient person. And quite frankly, I am not very worried.

Yes, those would probably be the only conditions that I would agree to at this point. Although, should I lose myself..
