I turned and splashed water at Toshiya as a way of telling him to turn around so Shinya could slip in. Toshiya seemed to not mind that he had to turn around in fact he just started washing himself paying no mind to any of us, like it was normal for him to bathe with other men around.
“Okay I'm in. You guys can turn around now.” I heard Shinya say. I turned around to say some smart ass comment about him being a virgin because he was too afraid to show his dick to anyone when I seen how thin he was. Maybe I should force stale crackers down his throat.
“Toshiya, can I see the soap?” Shinya asked. “I don't want to be in here too long.”
“Why? Afraid you're gonna get pruny, princess?” Toshiya called over his shoulder.
He still had his back to us.
“I just don't like to be exposed.” Shinya mumbled.
“Fine.” Toshiya said turning around and somewhat swimming over to Shinya. “Here, but I need it back.” He said handing over the soap and taking a few steps away from Shinya.
Shinya looked at him a little uncomfortable with how close he was to him.
“What? Are you homophobic?” Toshiya asked in a bitter yet playful tone.
“No.” Shinya quickly said. “I'm just a little uncomfortable bathing in front of people.”Toshiya took another step away from him and turned his head to look at the trees.
I couldn't help but think Shinya was indeed a little bit homophobic, but who knows, maybe he truly was uncomfortable bathing in front of others. Either way I averted my eyes, scanning the forest line, and it wasn't but a few seconds before I heard Shinya pipe up with a,
“Here, Toshiya.”
I turned to see Shinya handing over the soap.
Well that was fucking quick.
“And I suppose you want us to turn around while you get out too?” Toshiya asked taking the soap.
Shinya nodded his head.
“You know Shinya you're very beautiful are you sure you're straight?” Toshiya asked stepping closer to him.
“Leave him alone!” I shouted at Toshiya feeling an out of place emotion of jealousy.
Toshiya looked at me shocked, but quickly turned away from Shinya and started washing himself again. I turned away too until I heard pads of feet on the hard soil and an,
“Okay!” From Shinya.
I could see the top of Shinya behind a brush putting his clothes back on.
I heard Toshiya make a small splash and I glanced over at him. I couldn't help but stare at him as he washed himself. Rubbing the soap all over his torso and arms as his skin glistened in the light. I felt a familiar feeling shoot to my groin and I looked away. Great I'm getting aroused by that arrogant asshole. What if he's still alive. I would be betraying him. I stole another glance at Toshiya. Fuck who am I kidding what if he's not even alive anymore? I'll be just like one of those fucked up chicks in movies that await for their long lost lover, only mine will most likely never return. Again I look at Toshiya, but this time he catches me and gives me a devilish smile. Fuck. I quickly look away.
“Kyo, are you needing the soap?” Toshiya asked in a smug tone.
“Uh, y-yeah.” I reach my hand out to him for the soap.
“Would you like me to drop it?” He asked smiling cruelly at me.
“Inappropriate!” Shinya yelled at us.
“Come on Shinya.” Toshiya said handing me the soap. “Gay guys have needs too.”
“Not when you're in my vision or ear range.” Shinya said motioning with his hands frantically.
“Maybe later then.” Toshiya said with a smug look on his face and began walking towards the shore.
I couldn't help, but watch him out of the corner of my eye. Despite the small malnourished look, his body was perfect. Or maybe that was just me being horny from the lack of physical contact from another person. After he got out of the water he looked at Shinya, but Shinya had his eyes glued to Tina who was laying on the ground in front of him. I saw Toshiya say something to him then Shinya steal a quick look at me and nod his head.
“Did you get a good enough look Kyo?” Toshiya asked over his shoulder. “Or do you want me to spread 'em and bend over?” He laughed.
I rolled my eyes and turned away from him to finish with my make shift bath.
“Kyo,” Shinya started “Can you tell us where we're going now?”
I sighed in frustration. “Didn't I say to not worry about it?”
“I just wanna know! Whats so wrong with telling us!?”
“Can I finish bathing in peace Shinya? Can I?” Shinya nodded his head. “Thank you Jesus fucking Christ. Fuck.”
Toshiya came walking back to us dressed now.
“What's with the word fuck being used so much and why am I not involved?”
“Shut up Toshiya.” I say as I glare at him.
“I bet you wish you could make me.” He said as he sat down next to Shinya with a smug look on his face.
“What is that even suppose to mean!?” I say as I throw my arms up.
He shrugged his shoulders, I look at Shinya honestly wanting to know what he meant by that. Shinya just rolled his eyes. Great fucking help he is. I go back to finishing my bath.
“Woo! Yeah wash that body!” I hear Toshiya yell and whistle.
Fuck it. I threw the bar of soap at him, hitting him in the shoulder.
“Uh!” Toshiya said grabbing his shoulder appalled. “Did you just see that!?” He shouted at Shinya.
Shinya shook his head smiling and picked up the soap and started to blow the dirt off of it.
“Hello! He just hit me with the soap!” He began to over exaggerate.
I get out of the river and walk over to my clothes as Toshiya continued his charade.
Shinya shrugged at Toshiya.
“You don't even care that, that hot piece of man meat over there is abusing me!?”
I try my best to swipe off most of the water on me, before putting my clothes back on. I couldn't help, but smile as I continued to listen to that idiots shenanigans.
“Well you shouldn't have annoyed him.” Shinya said getting up and walking over to the water to clean the soap off.
“I was trying to entice him!”
“You deserved it.” Shinya said turning around with a clean soap.
“. . . Excuse me?” Toshiya said in a flat voice.
Shinya shrugged.
“Do you really expect Shinya to take your side after what you did yesterday?” I asked Toshiya as I turned around.
“I said I was freaking sorry and I thought we were over that!” Toshiya yelled as he stood up.
Shinya walks back with the soap. “We are over that. Quit bringing it up, Kyo.”
I feel a bit hurt at Shinya, for saying that. “Fine.” I grab our bag of food and start walking.
“Wait, we're leaving now?” I hear Toshiya ask.
I don't answer, I keep walking into the woods. If they're smart enough they will follow the man with the food.
“Okay, so now will you tell us where we're going?” Toshiya asked as he and Shinya caught up with me.
I still say nothing. I'm giving them the mother fucking silent treatment, I don't even care if it seems childish.
“Come on Kyo, don't be like that.” Shinya says as he slightly pushes my shoulder.
I walk faster to put space in between them and me.
“Oh, watch out. Mr. Bad-ass is throwing a temper tantrum.” Toshiya has no clue how bad I want to punch him in the mouth to make him shut up. I ignore his comment.
“Don't you think his big attitude is compensating for a little something?”
I turn around to face Toshiya and grab him by the collar of his shirt, bringing him down to my level. “I swear to fucking God, if you say one more word I will break your fucking jaw. Got it?” He nods his head. “Good.” I let go and my fast paced walk. “I suggest you guys walk faster if you wanna make it there before dark.”
“Way to take something too far.” I heard Shinya quietly snap at Toshiya.
“I thought you were the nice one.” Toshiya whispered.
I don't know why, but at that moment I could imagine Shinya shrugging.
After a while of some nice peace and quiet Shinya consistent as ever pipped up.
“Kyo, where are we going? Can you please tell us now?”
Man was I fucking tired of that question. “The city I finally told them.”
“The city!?” They both said in shock.
“Yeah.” I said a little annoyed.
“Kyo I know I'm not suppose to talk, under penalty of having my jaw broken, but the city is too dangerous. It's like the zombie flocking ground where they all go to shoot the shit.” Toshiya blurted out quickly, afraid of being stopped mid sentence with a busted jaw.
“I know.” I mumbled.
“Then why are you still taking us there Kyo?” Shinya asked. “Like it or not the three of us and Tina are now a group. There should be no more of this 'Lone Wolf' facade about you. And you can't say we forced ourselves on you because in truth if you really didn't want us to come with you than you would've been more persistent with us when you wanted us to leave.”
I stop and turn around. Had Shinya known all along that I actually valued his company and allowing him to have Tina and let Toshiya come along was a way to show my care for him?
“The cities were hot spots a few weeks ago, because of all the people that stayed in them with the food depleting the zombies are forced to go somewhere else to seek food, therefore leaving the city. That's when we come in.” I tell them.
“But Kyo, shouldn't we have ran into more zombies then?” Shinya asked as he adjusted Tina's bag strap on his arm.
“Well there's a possibility that they have left already and we missed them.”
“But there's also a possibility that they're still in the city.” Toshiya said filling in the other possibility.
I glare at him. “Do you have any other suggestions? What the fuck else do we do!? What, just live in the woods until we die?”
“Kyo, if we go to the city we're certain to be eaten alive!”
“What does it matter!?” I yell. “What difference does it make if we're killed there or here!?”
“We have better luck in the woods, Kyo, you know it. We're staying here.” Shinya tells me.
“Oh my fucking-” I run my hands through my hair pulling at it. “Are you really doing this!? I fucking saved your ass so many times and you're fucking against me!?”
Shinya doesn't say anything, just stares at me.
“I fucking- that's it.” I drop the bag of food by their feet. “I'm done.” I turn back towards the direction of the city and start walking alone.
I felt hurt from Shinya. What more could I have done? He had told me himself that as long as I was there he'd be safe and here I am walking away from him. Basically treating him like a dog I no longer wanted.
“You know what?” I said turning around and waling back to them. “This is mine.” I said snatching the bag of food from Toshiya after he had picked it up. “I found it, I carried it, Therefore it's mine.” I sling the bag on my arm and turn around to start walking away again.
“Kyo.” Toshiya whined. “What are we suppose to do?”
“Fuck off that's what you're suppose to do.” I yell back.
“But.” I hear Shinya whisper a little upset.
Fuck was he going to cry?
“But Kyo you can't leave.” Shinya shouted.
Fuck, he was going to cry.
“If you leave you're basically signing my death warrant!” He continued. “Toshiya can't help me
when I get attacked! He'll just run! Me I . . . I . . . I don't know what to do! I never actually killed a zombie before!”
I stopped as I heard the pain in his voice grow. I turned around to look at them. I was a good ten feet from them now. Shinya was right, if I left them I'd be signing his death warrant but not just his Toshiya's and possibly that fucking cats too. I mean here these two dumb fucks are out in the woods close to a city, that may or may not be filled with zombies, shouting at the top of their lungs, and neither of them are paying attention to their surroundings. Toshiya's looking at the ground playing with his lip and Shinya is focused on me.
“You two dipshits have trusted me so far, why stop now?” I asked.
“Because Kyo, my group came from the city. We left because it became over populated with zombies. We lost a lot of people as we moved out.” Shinya said wiping his face with his right hand.
Toshiya looked at Shinya, then at me, then back at Shinya.
“I know what Kyo's getting at now.” Toshiya said.
Shinya looked at him.
“Zombies are animals. What do animals do when there's no food?” Toshiya asked. “They migrate to where there's food.” He said answering his own question. “If the people in the city began to leave once the zombie population increased then that only means the zombies had to leave in search of food. They won't go back to the city once they find food though because from what I've observed, they may travel in packs at times, but they're not particularly social creatures. They will go where the food goes.”
Damn, and I though Toshiya was retarded.
Shinya looked at me and I nodded my head forward.
“Shinya we know you're scared.” Toshiya said putting his right hand on Shinya's left shoulder. “But what Kyo is doing is smart and as long as the three of us stick together we'll be okay.”
“So you're going with Kyo?” Shinya asked.
“Yeah.”
