Greetings all!
It's halfway through the month, and thus time for me to unveil the challenge for next month so you can think about it while you're all furiously scouring limewire and writing your little fingers off for June.
The challenge for July shall be *drumrolls*
Fic Bingo!
(To my knowledge, this is an original idea to me O.o; So I'm kinda excited about it)
Everyone who wants to participate should sign up by commenting to this post. When I have at least 25 sign-ups (which judging by the enthusiasm over the June post shouldn't be too unrealistic), I'll give everyone a bingo card with the names of the participants on it, all random and mixed up.
Just as a note, your own name will be on the card, so you get a free spot!
In July, all participants should post a fic or piece of artwork - it can be on any topic, and if it's a fic, it can be of any length. Write a drabble if you want! Just make sure the fandom is on the list, of course.
Please note: Even if you've got your card, you cannot start to actually play until you've posted your fic, so get your fics in early!
Once you've posted your fic, you can start reading other people's fics to fill out your card. You must read and comment to cross out a square on your bingo card. When you get 5 in a row, of course, you win. The winners will get a super-special-mega-awesome prize! (which will probably consist of being featured on the userinfo page for the month of August, unless I can think of something else...er)
"But!" You cry "I might not know the fandoms of some of the fics"
"Tough" I reply. The purpose of this community is not so that we can post our obscure fics into the same void we post them to when we post them to a dead community. The purpose is to expose other people to those fandoms, drum up interest, and hopefully expand the fandom. So when you write your July fic, try to come up with something that'll be reasonably accessible to people who've never been exposed to the fandom before - you may spur someone to go out and find it.
Please comment below to sign up, or if you have any questions *grins*
