Taken from cutecrazyice (hope you don't mind sweetie).

The BBC allegedly believes most people will have only read 6 of the 100 books here.

How do your reading habits stack up? [bold those books you've read in their entirety, italicize the ones you started but didn't finish]

1 Pride and Prejudice - Jane Austen
2 The Lord of the Rings - JRR Tolkien
3 Jane ( Read more... )

Of course I've read it, I've studied it in school for an entire year! :D Like you study English/American Lit., we study Italian Lit :)

I love La Divina Commedia, the Inferno (Hell) especially, since Purgatorio and Paradiso (Purgatory and Heaven) are sooo boring. Dante was really a talented author and he had a modern mind for its times - even if I don't agree with him for some things, mostly I find myself accepting his point of view :D
L'Inferno can be also funny: for example, the travel is set in 1300, two years before Dante's exile from Florence (but he wrote it between 1308 and 1321 if I remember correctly) and he had already reserved a place in Hell for his archenemy, pope Bonifacio VIII, who was the one to exile him.
--> there's a soul who asks him "Is that you Bonifacio? We were waiting for you, here is your place" XD lol

XDDD. Yeah, I wanted to read L'Inferno the most, since that's what Signora Pugliese talked about, and the levels of hell and stuff, which made me want to read it SO. BAD.

Did Dante find Beatrice in Paradiso?

Yes, Beatrice is Dante's guide for the Paradiso; instead, in the Inferno and Purgatorio his guide is Virgil :)

OH well, I'm not so amazing *blush* most of my friends have read as many books as me, or even more :D
I just love to read - take fanfictions for example! They may not be great literature, but I NEED to read something :D :D :D

I completely agree with the above comment, the internet is with a doubt growing into the most important medium of communication across the globe and its due to sites like this that ideas are spreading so quickly.
