Can you email anything through attachments? Copy/paste the text if you have to into an email or privately locked LJ entries? I'm not sure what other files there are for your boss, though, so I don't think you can copy/paste those so easily if they're not text documents or something. D:

-hugs- I'm so sorry.

(I hate dry heaving. I do that more than throwing up sometimes, and it makes me wish I could bring up something just to get it over with.)

Mm. No. You don't get it. I can't copy-paste anything, or run internet, or OPEN anything. I keep trying to uninstall or access the menu, and the computer freezes, and I have to turn it off. I'm going to have to take it in to a pro, too, because I can't exactly ask my dad to do through my laptop when right out on the desktop, I have my experimental Nabari pairing stuff with Gau and Raikou being...well...Gau and Raikou ( ... )

Ah, okay, I thought perhaps you had managed to post from your computer, since you said it was shutting down the programs needed to fix it. I thought it was one of those viruses that can prevent you from opening up antivirus programs. I thought the freezing was from that. I didn't realize it wouldn't let you open anything at all.

I hope there's some way to fix it somehow. D: (And affordably...it's kind of important to have money for textbooks and car trouble, considering you need the car for transportation.)

I meant to ask this, but how is it even legal that your boss doesn't pay you regularly? :/ I really can never see a reason why an employee shouldn't be paid on schedule. If you can't be paid, you shouldn't have been hired to do the work, allowed to do the work, only to wait. (Or in some cases, I know people get gypped completely.)

I asked a computer guy I know to come look at your post and see if he can help you. Don't know if he'll do it but its possible help is on the way.

Aah~ *laughs* That's...very sweet, thank you. But I'm not sure how much one can do when they can't get the computer to run a system restore without crashing. Not much without something to slave the drive to, anyway, to try to get programs off....

even then, I've no idea how the infection started, or where, only that there's likely something there doing it.

If I could manage to have the thing run long enough to let me copy about five files off the desktop, I'd feel better, really, but it won't even let me delete icons.

So... *shrug* I don't know what can be done. My rudimentary knowledge isn't going to help when it's more a matter of timing.

But thank you.
Who knows, I suppose. ^^

If you restart the computer in safe mode, I think it will let you back up all your stuff. My friend's computer has a virus, and this is what we did. We then ran Malwarebytes and Spybot Search & Destroy (loaded from my flashdrive, which I had to dispose of afterwards) but this didn't solve anything. Also try using Restore Points to restore your computer back to its original state before the virus attacks. (maybe like a few months before?) If you back up all your stuff, this shouldn't be a problem. Let me know what happens.

Can't find th safe mode option because I'm an idiot noob.
Also, this is Buchephelas, my new lappie, so it's only been around for a few months, first off, but also, I can't run anything long enough to get either a system detox of some sort, or a restore of any kind. (My last system backup would be from a few days ago, too, so this really sucks.)

Safe Mode foolish_m0rtal September 15 2010, 01:20:53 UTC
Hi, this is Charles.

Best way to get into Safe Mode depends on the version of Windows you're using.

All versions of Windows - F8 Key method

Pressing the function key "F8" repeatedly will do the job if you're booting the system from a powered down condition. It's a PITA. But ...

(1) It will hand you an "Advanced Boot Options" screen that walks you through the rest of the Safe Mode boot.

(2) It works for all versions of Windows I've ever used. That specifically includes W2K, Windows XP, Vista, and Windows 7.

Here's the reference page at MS:
http://windows.microsoft.com/en-US/windows7/Start-your-computer-in-safe-mode

Windows 2000 / XP - Boot menu changeThere's a startup menu trick I used to use on all my XP systems that will hand you an explicit Safe Mode boot option during power-up. It does not work in Windows 7, because the boot process was redesigned. But it works like a champ for XP. And if you make this change, ( ... )

Hm? Oh. Thank you, Mister Charles.
I'll have to try that once I hand-copy the directions and finish the email commenting I've got to do, just in case it takes me the rest of the evening.

Again, most helpful. Thank you.
