It's really sad how adults in a family can screw up kids w/o even trying. Kumquat lives 2 blocks from us, and we MIGHT see him every few months. My mom used to try harder - and it was a little easier when he lived w/ G-ma (before we moved her out), but, even then, they'd do this passive aggressive crap and be getting ready to leave, if they weren't already gone.

Kids can always use more love, and this is how families drift apart and stay there. Please don't stop trying with the ones who DO make the effort, but don't trouble yourself w/ the ones who don't.

And Twilight? Yeah. I'm re-reading to get ready for the movie.

Yeah, that's why on one hand I'm not so upset by this....because Kaden has MORE than enough love and attention from his Grandma (B's mom) and my entire family that live nearby which consists of my parents, 3 sisters, 1 brother-in-law, 3 nieces and 2 nephews. And we see all of them ALL the time...and not just because I'm making the effort. My mother-in-law takes him for a sleepover every single Tuesday night. One of my sisters and her kids are over at least 3 times a week to see Kaden. So he's not missing any love, if you know what I mean.

I'm reading borrowed books that I know I'm going to have to buy to have for myself.

Twilight by far (to me) is the best of the books I've read so far. I still have to read the 4th one.

Families are so hard to understand, aren't they?

I'm about 130 pages into the second book and I'm so mad that Shellie didn't warn me how PAINFUL it was. LOL

Yeah, they are.

And how is your little guy?

He's great! We have so much fun watching him becoming this little person with his own little personality. He'll be 14 months the 22nd of this month.

Oh my goodness! What a big boy already!! It gets even better, C. You wonder how it could get any better than today...and then tomorrow comes. I swear it.

Yeah, it's totally Edward. I think because I had watched the trailers long before I read the first book, it's so much more vivid for me because I can picture them in the actors now. I was totally looking for icons earlier but I hadn't made up my mind about any. I did find a picture on Yahoo movies that Edward looked pretty delicious in.

I know, it's getting bad that I don't care if I watch or not.

I can't even force myself to watch DWTS this season. I LOVE Rocco, from his show The Restaurant, but not even his hotness and cocky attitude can get me to watch.

Your family sounds like mine. It's sad though, that these adults can't even see the mistakes they're making, and how not being in Kaden's life now will only hurt them in the end. I give you a lot of credit for going though!

Yeah, that's what it's getting to be like for me. I'm actually forcing myself to watch.

That's exactly it...they are hurting themselves by not know what a wonderful little boy he is and missing this special time with him. Because later in life, when all his big important things come (high school, marriage, etc) he's not going to care if those people are there to celebrate. As long as his Gabby is here, he's truly happy. LOL

I would love your opinion on Twilight.

I addicted. That's my opinion. For 4 days now I've done nothing but things associated with Twilight in any spare minute I have between work and family. LOL

You know, I'm just a sucker for love stories. Granted I'm not getting the real adult talk, like cursing, or the sex that I would not read a book without but I'm loving the sweetness of these two. I'm halfway through book 2 now and while it's painful, I know it's going to get better. HA!
