A small anti-Diru-fandom moment brought to you by Vidoll and Xime:

1. Diru is not alone in this fucking world. Everyone 'rips off' everyone, so to speak. If Diru were truly original, then Kiyoharu would never exist, Yoshiki would have never cross-dressed and played the drums, and hide would never have had a mullet even resembling the colour pink ( Read more... )

Yeah but keep in mind it's not just the Diru fans that do that, there are tons of jrockers out there and there are tons of people who see only their fandom. Maybe the Diru fans are just more vocal about it or something, I dunno, but if we're going to do this to the stupid Diru fans we may as well do them to the stupid Everyone fans :P Why? because leeda says so and lets face it EVERYONE like that pisses me the fuck off, not just the Diru ones (although yeah they're fucking annoying because I quite like that band. Though honestly my interest in them is deminishing...Onmyouza has now sparked my interest)

1) I want everyone to hold hands and say "All music is loved, there is always someone who loves some type of music, get over yourselves"

2) Now everyone go listen to Notre Dame de Paris and be happy. There is not enough Notre Dame fandom.

Totally agreed. Mana comes to mind immediately, actually. xD So does Gackt. This rant just is semi-directed to a Diru fan that mentioned that Vidoll is only popular because of Dir en Grey, that's all--trust me, I'm not saying this is /only/ Diru fans.

I'll do that. I still sort of like Dir en Grey, just not as much as I used to, man.

Ergh, the Diru fandom is quite unappealing. I think that Diru, being a very general, very on-the-edge-but-not-really-on-the-edge band tend to attract most of the newbies in the general jrock scene. I don't mean to belittle Dir en Grey, or heck, I don't mean to diss newbies [we were all ones, once upon a time], but all Dir en Grey fans need to, in my opinion, open their eyes just a bit.
Newbies, though not ill-intended, are usually prone to throwing hissy-fits when someone says anything even slightly off topic from their favorite new band. In Diru's case, the fandom really is over populated with such people. It's quite a shame, because Diru used to be a pretty okay band.

I agree with most of your points, but not quite sure about the Vidoll one. I've only heard a few of their songs, and, I suppose, they're quite like Kana; hurt your ears the first few times you try and listen to them, and then they just stick and get you addicted. xDD
