Charity vid auction - Canterbury earthquake
I'm offering one full-length vid for charity auction. All proceeds from the winning bid will be donated towards earthquake relief for Christchurch, New Zealand.
Background info
For those of you who might not know, my husband and I are both Christchurch natives. Although we weren't in Christchurch for either of the big quakes, our families experienced both of them, together with a lot of our friends. Thankfully no one we know are hurt, and material damage suffered has been reasonably minor. But there were plenty of others who weren't so lucky.
This is a matter very close to my heart. I did a quick search and couldn't find any Help Canterbury comms as of yet, so thought I'd just go ahead and start my own little charity auction for what it's worth.
ETA: saw that help_nz is getting set up. However I will continue with this auction as I would prefer a tighter turnaround time.
Bidding details
The auction will run from now until 10pm, Saturday 26th February GMT (Check what it is for your timezone)
Bidding will be in US dollars and begin at $1. Please check the highest bid and then comment on this post to bid.
To make things simpler I ask you not to comment on this post unless you are bidding. If you need to ask anything about the auction, please feel free to do so on this public post here.
The bidder can of course pick their charitable organisation to donate to. Here are a couple I know of: Red Cross NZ, Salvation Army NZ.
The vid
I offer to make one full-length vid (up to 4:30 mins) for the winning bidder.
The bidder will choose the song and subject matter (subject to the fandom list below), and I will do my best to work to their wishes. However we may need to discuss alternative songs/ideas if I run into huge creative issues with the initial idea. Hopefully that won't be the case - I've done about 5 charity vids so far and haven't had to default on one yet, so I hope to keep that up.
Timing will be discussed with the bidder but I expect it should be complete within the next couple of months.
