It felt nice getting out of the house. Met up with Gaara over at the coffee house and caught up some with him. It was nice seeing him again, it was nice seeing him doing so good. *smiles*

Gaara waited at the coffee shop that was close the school. It where he had told Sakura to meet him after all. Something seemed missing as he stood there and waited, and it was his bag. Usually he felt inclined to bringing it everywhere he went, but for some reason his money was kept in a wallet in his back pocket. It was amazing how much his back wasn't hurting without the thing.

Looking a bit tired, Sakura was walking up to the coffee shop where she was supposed to meet Gaara. It had been quite some time since they last met up like this and she couldn't help but have a small smile on her lips. It would certainly be fun to meet him again. Especially now... No, not thinking about her boyfriend. The frown that had suddenly shown up disappeared as suddenly as she took the last few steps up to the shop. Upon seeing Gaara she gave him a big smile. "Hi, sweetie! How have you been?" If it had been anybody else they would have gotten a hug and/or a kiss on the cheek, but Sakura didn't think that it was such a good idea to do that with Gaara.

Upon hearing the familiar voice, Gaara turned to see the old, friend, as she would be called approach him. He replied to a smile with his own. (A strange sight indeed.) "Hello, Sakura."

She almost started at him when he smiled that easily but instead her smile widened. "I take it that you have been well?" He certainly must have been, smiling that easily.

"I have," he replied. "And you?"

Sakura's smile turned a bit tired and she shook her head. "It's been okay, I guess. Could have been better. Let's go inside, okay?" Maybe he would have forgotten all about it by the time that they had sat down and gotten their drinks.

He nodded and moved to open the door for her. "Is there anything wrong? You look more tired than I do."

Stepping inside she winked at him. "I just thought that you shouldn't have to feel so lonely anymore. Now you're not the worst." Yes, as always she was trying to avoid the question.

"I'm not lonely," he replied, still stern and concerned. "And you're avoiding my question."

"I know," she said with a small smile as she sat down at one of the tables. "I know... It's not something big, it's just..." It felt very private and on one part she wanted to tell him, but on the other part it felt like she shouldn't.

He pulled out a chair for her to sit down. "Go on." He sat across from her.

Sakura gave him a smile and sat down on the chair that he offered her. "Thank you." With a tired sigh she then looked down at the table where she had folded her hands. Maybe she could strike a compromise? "Well... I can't tell you much - because it's for him to tell, not me - but I guess that it all comes down to that he broke a promise to me..." It still hurt to hear it out loud. He had promised not to have any secrets to her...

"Ah, I see." Gaara were the worst person in the world to ask for comfort. He had no idea hot to do it. "What do you want Sakura? I'll get it for you."

Making a dismissive gesture with her hands she shook her head at him. "Nothing. There's nothing you can do, so don't worry about it, hon." It was a nice thought though, she thought with a small smile on her face.

"I meant to drink."

With an embarrassed laugh she shook her head at herself. "See what a lack of sleep does to me? I don't understand how you manage it... Anyhow, I think I'll have a plain Pepsi."

"Anything to eat too?"

"Anything with chocolate in it. Surprise me," she said with a grin. Sakura was a typical girl in that way: Feeling up or down, especially when feeling down, she definitely wanted chocolate. Preferably lots of it.

"Alright." Poor Gaara had no knowledge of chocolate, except that dark chocolate was good for you. He went to the counter and saw that it had a piece of German Chocolate cake, so he got it that for and her Pepsi. He got orange juice and a blue berry bagel for himself. "Here you are." He set the things in front of her.

"Thanks sweetie." Sakura smiled happily at him. "It looks delicious - you really made a great choice." Taking quite a big bite out of it she for a moment had an expression of absolute bliss on her face. Yep, she really needed some chocolate right now. After another moment of bliss she looked up at Gaara. "So how are you doing nowadays?"

He scratched his head. "You're welcome. Ah, well, I'm good," he replied. "I'm good."

"Sounds great. It was about time." Smiling she turned her attention back to the cake so he wouldn't see the trace of guilt that still showed in her eyes. Sakura would probably always feel more or less guilty over what she had done to him, but she was getting better at hiding it, she hoped.

"I suppose it is. . . " He was a great conversationalist, as usual.

Rolling her eyes slightly she chuckled. "I see that it hasn't changed your speaking habits though? One still almost has to force the words out of you," she teased.

"I never know what to talk about," he smiled.

"So I have noticed. I hope that you talk more to Hinata-chan though," she snickered. Not that she wanted to think about those two in a relationship together, but there was nothing she could do about it - so she smiled instead.

"We don't...need to talk much." He blushed slightly.

Oh... If Sakura hadn't been the flirty type that she was, she would probably have blushed right about now. "You don't talk? That must get boring in the long run." She still sounded teasing, but she honestly thought that.

"It doesn't." He smirked. "We found other ways to communicate."

"I can imagine..:" she said with a very perverted grin. "But those times that you're not in bed, shouldn't you be talking then?" Nope, Sakura definitely wasn't a very shy person and could sometimes even be a bit crude.

"She likes to talk about food," he replied. "And we both like Terry Pratchett so we talk about him."

"Good. I would get worried about you two if you didn't have anything at all to talk about," she smiled and added: "Hinata-chan likes to talk about food? I guess I shouldn't be surprised. What Terry Pratchett books have you read? I don't think that I've read any of them yet, but everyone tell me that they're great books."

"All of them."

She shouldn't be surprised, this was Gaara she speaking to. "I should have realized that," she admitted with a smile. "So which one is your favorite?"

"Thief of Time."

"What is that about then? What makes it so good?" Sakura really had no idea what the books were all about.

"It's about a person that steals time." He went on about describing it.

Listening attentively at him, Sakura found herself almost listing more to the sound of his voice than to his words. Shaking her head to get herself from the daze she smiled at Gaara. "Maybe I should read it someday then. Sounds interesting."

"They're alright. Read Raymond E. Feist first before him though. His characters are much better and the reading is easier."

"I can imagine; Pratchett seems a bit confusing. Raymond E. Feist? I recognize the name, but right now I can't remember what books he's written."

"Riftwar and Serpantine Sagas, they're pretty great."

"Oh? Why are they so great then?" she asked curiously. It was nice just talking like this, no tensions or anything like that between them.

"The characters are believable and interesting. The way the relationships are written are great too." Again he goes on explaining everything.

This time she really looked interested. "That sounds really interesting. Do you have any books that I can borrow? Otherwise I guess I'll just go to the library - these books sound interesting enough and I need something new to read." And something to get her mind off things, but that was beside the point.

"I do have a few...I usually have them in my bad, but I left it at Hinata's..."

"Oh. Then maybe it's simpler if I just go to the library." Not that she had anything against the other girl, but Sakura had been uncertain about where she had her since a couple of months earlier when Hinata had blown up at her without reason - and the fact that she didn't want to see Gaara and the other girl together didn't have anything to do with it. Nope, not one bit.

Gaara was unaware of the blown up. "Which ever is fine."

"I can take the long way home and then I'll pass the library, so I'll just do that," she said with a smile and took a sip from her drink. So what should they talk about now? Relationships, check. Books, check. "So have you been playing any DDR lately?" she finally asked, remembering when they had been playing that at his old place.

"I haven't played it as much," he replied. "All my energy goes to Hinata as of late."

"Relationships tend to do that to you," she nodded, her lips turned into small and slightly tired smile. "It's too bad, you had potential."

"Potential?"

"Yeah, from what I remember you were pretty good at DDR." An image that would forever be printed into her mind, she thought and had to hide her perverted grin.

"I'm sure I'll pick up again sooner or later."

Sakura shrugged and continued sipping her drink, taking a bit of her cake every now and then. "You should only do things that you think are fun. There's no point in doing it otherwise."

"It is fun. Just the time isn’t there."

"That's too bad." Sakura herself had way too much free time lately. Maybe she should get a job or something... Looking up at him she had to ask: "Hey, Gaara... Do you know anyone that needs some extra workers?"

"Extra workers?" He thought about it for a second. "You can try looking in the paper?"

She made a face but then sighed. "I guess I have to. I hope there's some place that does need extra workers... Hopefully not a too shabby job. I think it's time that I get out into that world though." Extra money and less time to brood about things - it couldn't get much better than that.

"I can ask the office if there are any available spots."

Shrugging she ate the last of her cake. "Sure. It would be great if you could do that. Thanks hon," she said the last thing with a smile. She doubted that it would be that easy to get a job, but if it was she would be more than happy to accept it.

"I'll ask next time I go into work."

"That's very nice of you, sweetie," she smiled before downing the rest of her drink. Stretching a bit she then stood up. "It was nice catching up with you. We shouldn't let it take that long to the next time."

"Agreed..." He tilted his head cutely. "Sakura, take care of yourself."

When he looked like that she almost wanted to pinch his cheeks because he was looking so cute, but decided to give him a smile and a quick hug instead. "You too, Gaara. Take care of yourself and take care of Hinata-chan."

"I'm trying." He gave her a half hug back. "Sakura, are you sure you don't need anything else?"

"What else could I need?" she started walking away but turned back to him with a bright smile. "I'll be fine, I always am." With that and a wave she walked out of the coffee shop; time to go back home to the brooding again.
