If all you have is Paint to work with for icons, is it possible to download fonts to that? Because I've downloaded a couple before but have never quite figured out how to get them in there.

Installing doesn't affect programs so much - you're installing them onto your entire program. I can give you directs for doing in XP, otherwise you'll have to check Google or icon_tutorial. :)

Make sure to download the font first, and put it somewhere where you can find it easily - My Documents or the C/unzipped is where I keep mine. :)

Make sure it's unzipped, too, then go to Start > Control Panel, and then find the "Fonts" shortcut. (I keep a Shortcut on my desktop for quickness.)

Click on that, and then, File > Install New Font. A little dialouge will pop up, just click around to find your file. If it's in a place with a lot of files, like the unzipped folder or your docs, it might take a minute or so for the computer to scan and find the fonts.

If all goes well, you should see the font name in the list of fonts: list. Select it and click OK, and it's installed. :)

Okay...I've found the community, and I can't download anything. It just goes to a temporary folder which I don't know where to get to.
I can download them to where I want in a zip, but I can't do that with ttf files here.
Any way of getting around it?

I'd create a folder in c:\ or on your desktop (so you can find the font easily). Once that's done, when you install the font, the file will be copied to the font folder and you can delete the download
