You may be right. Before talking to Natasha this morning I had started to (RE) divide the world into the "Men are from mars and women from venus" camps. I know, its stereotyping blah blah but it seemed to fit the mould around here what with Courtney v Itea and Laurie v Eric on housework... but then Tash v Doug its all messed up. Doug likes order and they argue when Tash gets home from work and doesn't do her bit to pick up and wash up. She pays for a cleaner but said you don't get the same brownie points from the partner for just paying. Still, its cleaner.

I will go with a cleaner. But a cleaner+therapist will add $120 to our weekly bills so there may need to be some ... um... reallocation of joy.

my mom once gave me some great advice about housework.

she said that it is the little piles that get to her. So here's what she does...

she cleans whenever she sees something that needs cleaning. Simple right? I asked her what that meant. She said she will hang clothes if they are in a pile right away. If there is a spill on the counter she wipes it then. If the trash is full she takes it out. Of course she lets others do some work too, unlike me.

And for the most part, it works for me. I make amendments though, like taking the trash out when I am already on my way out the door, or leaving piles of laundry on the table for hours until I have to move them for dinnertime.
