1) It's real, and could be a chance to do something, if your interested, and
2) He's fake, and just wants you out there.
Now, the fact that he said it's ok to bring a friend or boyfriend is a good sign, so, if you are interested in trying it out, I recommend having somebody with you, no matter where it happens, here or in Boston.
