no-one accepts anything at face value. only an idiot would believe what he was told for no reason. this is why a lot of people who are brought up in a religious environment as children drift away in their teen years - the years they learn to question what they have been told. no-one accepts a god formula without experiences to back it up. who'd want to change their life? who'd want to find out that they way they live needs work? but you can phrase it alternately - "who wants to all of a sudden, not be the most powerful figure in your life?" no matter what you believe in, your choices will always be your own. everything you'll ever decide to do was totally in your control. i made a lot of mistakes before i realised that we'd already been given a manual for how to live right, and my life has gone from a total mess to being more focused, driven and successful than i've ever been. i've seen people healed, been shown things i never could've seen on my own, and literally saved from extreme harm more than once
