The world was ending in a massive flood caused by a great weight pulling the continents together like a vortex. I stared from a ship traversing an ocean from whose depths poked the tips of skyscrapers from drowned cities. The currents tugged us along violently and I sought shelter from higher ground. I couldn't know how much deeper the earth would sink into itself.
As the disaster began, I observed the most startling sunset I had ever seen. On a distant plane of water there stood a massive canyon in the shape of an iconic Egyptian lion, much like the Sphinx, silhouetted from the orange and red of the bleeding sky. I knew this to be a sign of end times. I kept attempting to photo journal with my phone camera, but failed to ready it on time as the world was changing rapidly around our ship. We were tugging violently upon the rigging on crushing winds, spiraling through the churning water.
On our journey there was a friendly black man with dread locks manifesting from or near the water. I trusted him but others warned he was part of this evil destructive force. As we left him behind with our ship, I watched from the bow as he transformed into his true self, a shadowy creature with a vague form and glowing red eyes.
Cities worked together to survive on land that had not yet been taken. I reached a patch of land and climbed vigorously with water at my feet. I reached a safe precipice by catching purchase on growing weeds and heaving myself over. Pursued by dark forces, I continued to run.
I was awakened by my ringing phone.
