Summary: Steampunk AU. Eight years ago John, under the name Pyro, belonged to a group of engineers and inventors called the New Order that were nearly wiped out by the Church for looking into other technology but the traditional steamtechnology. John managed to build a life as a travelling writer but he always comes back to the tavern where Bobby works, for whom he has secret feelings. Bobby belongs to the Keepers, a group that monitors and maintains the status quo between the different factions, especially the escalating situation between the Church and the Pagans.
John is forced back into his old life when Erik, the leader of the New Order, long believed to be dead, comes back, having formed an alliance with the Pagans to take his revenge on the Church and resurrect the New Order.
Artist's note: Hey there! This is the artwork for the amazing smaragdbird's Let's Conspire to Ignite for the xmenbigbang! It's been one fun hell of a journey, and I would like to dedicate this to the wonderful smaragdbird that made this 'verse come alive as well as my one and only sister (ckim28), who I've pestered many times enough for advice. I hope you like the art as much as I enjoyed drawing them. Enjoy!
