As much as I didn't like this episode- and what could really follow last's weeks anyway?- I'll say it again: Ben's expressions (along with and combined with Sandy/Ryan time) saved it and made it for me. I could mute the volume and just watch him and know exactly what he was thinking, feeling and even saying when there was actual dialogue. Damn, his eyes have life of their own. I've never seen someone who can make his eyes so hollow and wounded one minute and literally have a visible sparkle that leaps out the next. There's no hamming at all; it's so subtle. That's real acting. He is so much Ryan that it's eerie

The screen caps are beautiful as is Ben Mckenzie's smile. I liked the episode. I had a hard time watching parts of it and it is not nearly as good as some shows we've gotten this season and maybe Ryan/Taylor story is being a bit rushed but it was good enough. I thought Seth was very endearing here, Kirsten/Julie seems to be playing at the right speed however I must admit that it makes me angry how much more upset Kirsten is with Julie over prostitution than she has ever been over all the wrongs Julie put upon Ryan. Sandy and Ryan...pure gold. Even if I hated the episode I would have to watch it for the so good Ryan/Sandy moments. Thanks for the caps, boy am I going to miss them.
