Organ Donation

I've always signed my donor card and thought it would be better for someone else to live a better life than for my organs to be buried with me when I die...not to say that anyone who doesn't think this or hasn't signed their card is a bad person, it's a personal choice and I respect that ( Read more... )

Considering the complexity of the human body, I think it's amazing that transplants actually work! Yes, it's sad someone had to die, but organ donation helps to create balance. One person dies, but another will live because of their thoughtfulness.

You can also have the option denoted on the back of your health card. When you go to renew it, there's a question in there somewhere if you want it on your card.

I'm hoping the transplant is a success, and wish your uncle the greatest new lease on life he could imagine.

When I changed my name on my health card I signed the donation thing at the same time - it's smart of them to attach that info to your card...hmm, the government doing something smart? lol

Surgery went amazingly well - it took half the time that they had scheduled and he's doing well...he'll be sedated for a few days and then life begins anew. :)
