I really need to stop having a sense of humor about myself. I'm one of those people that can generally laugh about my shortcomings... but people seem to think that this quality about me opens the door to them insulting me to my face. Two more things were said yesterday that just ....... hurt

Maybe he "hates your guts" because you don't reciprocate the flirting; in other words, he really does like you but is sort of offended that you don't return it. Guys can be that way.

My sister jokes about me binge-eating at times, too. It's really hurtful, and people don't seem to see that.

Eh, that bitch is jealous of you. Easy to tell, because she is putting you down and making you feel like crap wherever you go. Her comment about "He's seen better" was just plain RUDE. There was no call for it at all. And that guy probably does like you a bit, but she's making it seem like he doesn't because she wants to "keep" him for herself. I would take anyhthing she says with a grain of salt because she seems like the catty type. Don't let her get to you and just go on being you.
