i just spent a lovely five days in ottawa. hundreds of pictures and a lot of good times.
but that must wait!
because i must write my two thousand six in review.
january
became self-indulgent. bought my first pair of matching bras and underwear. stopped wearing pearls everyday. became really annoyed with will's roommates and their lack of cleanliness and dave's cat getting sick and pissing everywhere. bought my first suit. went to cabaret for the first time. fell in love with nina simone.

spent a lot of time in bata/biko library.
february
spent a nice amount of time with amelia.
made a lot of posters for illegal potlucks. enjoyed illegal potlucks. hated first nations women class with a burning passion. cried in my first university classroom. stormed out of a university classroom for the first time. was called a stupid angry dyke in a university classroom for the first time. was very, very angry. met iris' boyfriend, cliff and had a weird nostalgic attack.
got really into design and considered pursuing it academically.
sent a lot of mail. started writing my pen-pal, anna.
had an amazing reading break.
mackenzie got a livejournal.
became very interested in blues music.
march
interviewed metric and yann martel. submitted my art and ("fashions") to many online magazines. organized and pulled off the 7th annual indigenous women's symposium, believe it or not.
met chrystos, who compared me to ginger rogers. i will never ever forget that.
practically moved into the bata library and took out the maximum number of books.
loved my classes.
spent a lot of time looking at photographers and artists on the internet.
celebrated sara's 21st birthday and talked about running for editor.
celebrated my two year anniversary with will.
was elected co-editor in chief of arthur with sara e. swerdlyk.
april
played a lot of baseball.
hated julian quite a bit.
started my youtube account!
snowed for the last time.
organized a drag show.
was very busy scholastically.
my bike was stolen, for the third time, when i lent it to julian. this cemented the downfall of my relationship with him.
read this poem a lot and cried a lot.

went to see regina spektor with iris and teresa.
finished my 3rd year of university with an 87% average.

moved back to trenton. reunited with my sister and started my terrible terrible job search.
went to the states for a few days.
gained ten pounds in 3 days, am still a size 12 today.
got new glasses.
became single.
was very lonely.
had no friends around.
listened to coco rosie, jose gonzales, al green and nina simone exclusively.
jen came to visit me and was incredibly supportive.
steph came to visit too, that was nice.
started spending a lot of time with jasmine and her friends.
got a job at tim hortons and was very very sad.
shannon moved to trenton and things got slightly better. claire was around too.
probably the worst month of my life.
june
i went to visit steph in toronto and had one of the most insane days of my life. easily. so much talking my throat was hoarse.
this is that month:
will admitted he never stopped loving me and we got back together and celebrated his 22nd birthday together. i quit tim hortons and went back to the factory, something i said i'd never do. it was a hard month.
family visits made things nicer.
bought a new digital camera.
july
went to see amadou and mariam. got really into the world cup. spent a week in toronto with will and hated hated hated his roommate. liked that he liked his job. read a lot of books, biographies on silent film stars like louise brooks and charlie chaplin.
fell in love with my precious cousin maggie
spent a lot of time in my pool.
spent a lot of time happy.

was very stressed out but fulfilled by arthur.
became a design nerd who likes fonts.
saddened by the attack in montreal.
was really let down by someone i trusted.
waltzed in the street with will.
had a wierd time hiring and not hiring people, and still regret some of the decisions i made.
didn't have my bike for an entire month. it was hard.
october
another difficult month.
took lots of polaroids, wrote a lot, made a lot of art.
went to see regina spektor with steph, zach and shannon. first real concert with high school friends.
met adorable puppies.
made some mistakes.
was fucked over by jerks on more than one occassion.
stopped eating, really.
had a crazy time at the arthur/womenscenter/opirg gala
will bought me a projector as a gift.
did a lot.
was very proud of our red oktober arthur.
went as louise brooks for halloween.
watched a lot of arrested development.
november
went to see fun art.
watched many great films.
made many issues of arthur.
went to the vintage clothing fair in ottawa, craziest weekend ever.
became very very very frustrated with certain workers, became quite a cranky girl.
fell in love, hard.
was heartbroken academically. missed being a full-time student.
