I promised that when I printed these and scanned them, I would re-post. My
last post was the digital test-shots in color, these are the actual prints I made in the darkroom in black and white (obviously.) This is my Final Portfolio for my Black & White Technique class.
My body of work is an illustration of an issue, we, as human beings, have most likely dealt with: trapped in the past by being unwilling or unable to let go of a certain time or place in our lives. Our time is spent going through the motions, unable to move forward, until one day we decide that enough is enough. Eventually, hopefully, the moment comes where we are able to free ourselves.
With these photographs, I hope to evoke empathy from the audience for the subjects; my goal is for a viewer to think, "I have been there before," and to connect on an emotional level with the characters in this narrative.
