hahaha. elly, i think you have become way too cynical!

i agree that twilight is not a literary masterpiece but that was not the intention of the author. it was to share her dream, vision, fantasy, whatever you want. and i enjoyed it. for once i liked reading about a man who was a gentleman and even though the book at times was incredibly dramatic and swoon-ish, i think you should go re-read your old livejournal entries and you'll realise that maybe we're not all idiots and it's not a train crash we're watching but just rather what it's like to read the innermost thoughts and whims of a teenage girl falling desperately in love.

LOL. except catherine hardwicke has actually directed some really good movies (i.e. lords of dogtown) so don't be too hard on her.

i also don't know why i read it. curiosity about the hype? i didn't buy it though, hehe..

I really like your writing, I have to add--

And I agree with you on all accounts about Twilight, but you have to realize that in some small way it is good, because it is getting people to read whereas without such an easy to consume product, they might not. And who knows, it might just spark a love of reading which could jump off towards more respectable work.
