Holy Goddd; gorgeous and luminous. I have a small black binder with a snap closure that I filled with blank pages, I want it to become what you have. And I will definitely look into Michael Chabon.

It was 107 today. But 114? That's just a little extreme, even for Arizona. You must in Death Valley or someplace?

The most books I ever read in one month was twenty, back in like 6th grade(they were fairly substantial for my age too). I can only imagine how many books i used to read in a year back then...sigh. Also, I'm glad I'm not the only one who keeps track of all the books I read. Mine are divided by month in an old composition book...
