my little in the frat is an rpg gaming azn nerd like yourself. she likes jrpg's that are fast paced with good stories but she hates FF, mostly cause of the active time battle system

Persona or Shin Megami Tensei; amazing games but not exactly fast paced. Not cheap either. This post fails.

I've got Digital Devil Saga 1 + 2 and I'm getting Persona 3 FES when its out, but i have a lot more patience for those kind of games because I like turn based and slow.
