Clementi central. Workman smoothing out the cement at the base of a newly installed lamp post. 5 year old girl squatting opposite him watching how he does it.

You know, this entry made me feel a certain sense of loss which I can't quite pinpoint. Perhaps the fact that we all have been so spoilt and been so used to stuff like that being done for us that only children will ponder over it. But I still think I'll be that girl! (though nowadays I know how they do it) I used to love watching them pave the road, pushing the rollers over the hot tar. I was that fascinated that I decided that one day when I grew up to be rich and powerful (of course it hasn't happened) I would actually use my power to make them let me try my stab at doing it. :)

Oh, btw, I'm coming back 24th June. If you're free, we could meet up, like an annual affair.

Yep sure, sounds good. Doesn't your scholarship cover the yearly flight to and fro? But if you don't come back, I'll really respect you. I just can't wait to come home now :)
