Clair is cocky, when she feels things are going her way.  And she's had Grey in her custody for weeks.  He's not beaten, she knows, but he knows the lay of the land, and what lines not to cross.  She knows this.

She expected him across the room. He'd been across the room when she checked the monitors on her way here. It's not until his hand is on the taser gun that she reacts, losing it as she jerks backwards.

"Grey!" It's the same bark of command she'd make with the arms on, but there is a tremor. Definitely a tremor. "What the Hell do you think you're doing?!"

His reach is a lot longer than hers, unaided, and he's fast. Clair scrambles back, but her hand, and the syringe in it, are caught.

"Grey! Let go! Don't make me turn you into a god-damned vegetable, I've put too much effort into you!"
